“It just gets better”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 19, 2011

Hotel Minella gets better every time. Stayed again for our 3 week Summer Holiday and have now returned relaxed and refreshed. Apartment was cleaned every day, fresh towels and beds. The Leisure facilities were used AM and PM (What a way to start and end a day) All Staff were friendly and very helpful. Bar Food was excellent and speedy service, taken sat by the river is the way to unwind. Thanks to all at Hotel Minell

We had a wonderful 24 hours in Minella. We invited a friend to Sunday lunch in the restaurant for her 90th birthday. It was a wonderful afternoon. The staff pulled out all the stops for the afternoon. After the desert, the staff came out with a cake with candles lighting and a glass of champagne for the 3 of us. They took photos for us. It was a great surprise. My husband and I stay in Minella approx 3 times a year for the past 15 years. We have always found it a "home away from home". Reception is always very welcoming. Management and staff always very friendly. Rooms are always excellent and very clean. Irish Breakfast is wonderful and Restaurant & Bar Food are excellent. Leisure Centre is well equipped & excellent. It is the only hotel to stay in Clonmel. It overlooks the River Suir and is less than 10 mins from the town by car. We have been in a lot of hotels over the years and this to us is one of the best and most relaxing and comfortable.

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking the river have a lovely view and would be very quiet.

Nice looking hotel with lovely food. Stayed there for a wedding. Staff came around after the meal and cleared the tables including all the drinks. Approched owner to get replacements and he pointed to a tray of dirty glasses and half empty bottles and grunted that they might be there if i want them but couldnt be sure. Never even offered to help or replace. Horrible attitude and i wouldn't spend another cent there. The owner is amoung the worst people I have ever met. Rude with staff obviously overworked and not at all happy looking.

We stayed here last night as we were attending a local wedding ( not in the hotel itself). I was really taken aback by all the small touches, offered free tea and coffee and buns after check in, there was free bottles of water on the way to rooms. At breakfast which was very good there was a large selection of food which was gluten free. The grounds looked great and I have made a note that this would be a hotel that we will go back with the kids. All I can say is well done to whoever is behind this hotel as you are doing a great job, just get your name out there more.

Seven years ago at my daughter's Hotel Minella wedding reception, we danced the night away, back for a visit alone, Hotel Minella remains a gem. I love everything about it from being welcomed by staff who remember me and know my daughter and her husband, to the pool, the view of the river, super comfortable beds, delicious breakfast. Hotel Minella is a must for me when I am in Ireland.

Stayed for the first time in this Hotel during the week, I wasn't expecting much after all Clonmel is in the middle of nowhere, but was greeeted with courtesy, welcome, and was surprised that such quality of a hotel existed in this part of the world. After we checked in we were asked would we like some tea of coffee sent to our rooms, a nice touch if I say so, Bottled water and fruit for the room are provided free to customers, which I don't see too often as I travel round IrelandThe room was spotless, and modernly decorated, Bathroom again was spotless, good water pressure in the showers, Myself and colleague ate in the bar that night, the food quality and choice was excellent, very pleasant and attentive bar-staff, My friend had a fillet steak, I had a sirloin, both were cooked to perfection, served with a nice side of potato and veg.
Breakfast next day was relaxed, quiet, and plenty of choice, fresh juice and fruit, along with cooked breakfast if you prefer. It just doesn't get any better
I will most certainly return,

Room Tip: They are all good rooms here
