“beautiful place to visit”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 26, 2014

this beautiful place is also known as the glengariffNature reserve and it is well worth a visit. Lovely walks well signposted and laid out. the site map estimates times for the walks which are abit generous if you are anyway fit. eg Big meadow walk 3.5 km at 90 minutes was completed in 50 mins at a leisurly pace.. A box by the car park has map leaflets available at a donation of 40 cent which is a great idea. Its a pity that toilet facilities are not provided. I noticed some littering with nappies etc in one of the wood areas being used as a toilet along the Esknamucky walk. A central toilet at the car park might help to overcome this problem.
Nevertheless this is a wonderful amenity, very well maintained and rich in trails and nature.

“Lovely location for picnic and walk”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 11, 2014

Located on the edge of the town, on the way towards Kenmare, the Woods are well laid out with a central parking and picnicking area beside the river. There are several walks that are signed, timed and mapped to take; some to heights such as Lady Bantry's Lookout which highlight spectacular scenery on clear days.
If you are an able walker - note that the times given are very generous

“stunning”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 5, 2014

We took a hike here for about 8km with our 3 year old and the walk was just magnificent. The woods are beautiful and full of wild flower and butterflies and dragonflies which shows that the woods is in great health.
We will definitely take another trip here when my wife's family come to visit from Italy and show them how beautiful this part of the world is.

“Nice natural area”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 24, 2014

Lovely quiet walks. We only had time to do the short river walk (1 km). But other longer ones were offered. We'll kept.
