“Great spot”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 15, 2013

Didn't get to stay here. Had bar food and drink and it was very well priced and good quality. Donal the owner was a true gent. Local knowledge was a gem. Recalled old times fiom when I spent childhood there.

What a lovely surprise to see a re vamp of an old hotel done so well ! Such a refreshing change from usual artificial flower arrangements that adorn most places, both in reception and dining room tables-instead garden flowers !Room was of a very high standard, tastefully decorated, with lovely en suite. The ladies in the bar had, two types towels, with hand lotion and deodorant.Every where was spotlessly clean. Very friendly local staff. Food was also excellent, both in the bar and restaurant, with a good variety, and seemed most popular !

Room Tip: Rooms at the back away from the street

We made an impromptu visit to Glengarriff and decided to stay. Casey's had the best rate of the 3 hotels in/near the village. We were very impressed with the spacious room overlooking a restful garden, and even more so with the really spacious and very beautiful bathroom.
The staff were friendly and obliged us with tea and scones at about 6.45pm (we had had a filling lunch) - even though they were busy serving evening meals. The scones were beautifully presented.
We had a very comfortable bed.
There was a good selection for breakfast and the server was friendly and attentive.
We would definitely recommend Casey's Hotel.

Room Tip: Room 14 was quiet. We could hear music in the distance but I think it stopped at midnight.

This was a great introduction to West Cork hospitality. The off street parking lot right beside the hotel made for easy access. We found all the staff to be very friendly and helpful. Owner, Donal, spent time with us advising us about our further travels in the Beara peninsula. Very centrally located for a walk around this colourful town. Great trad music session in the Blue Loo.
I just wish the local Tourist Office had been open!

Not sure if it's because it was a bank holiday weekend but we waited over 20 minutes for our food then our starters and mains arrived together - no offer to take the mains back to the kitchen - had to ask for water for a second time. Food was very average - seafood pasta 'special' had mussels with beards intact and smoked fish full of bones. Battered cod was similar to chip shop fish and chips were old. Being so close to the sea we expected better - tourist area so maybe people tolerate it - being charged for a drink we didn't have was the icing on a fairly average cake

We planned to go to Glengarriff for a nice quiet anniversary break. I was about 10 weeks pregnant so was very tired in the evening and was looking forward to a nice relaxing stay with good nights sleep at caseys. When we checked in we asked the manager Donal assured is the hotel was quiet as I was anxious about getting alot of rest. He actually joked with us and said 'what? Are you worried about discos? You're in glengarriff for goodness sake!' So we took that as good enough. Our room was lovely (room 9) and very quiet on Friday night however that was all about to change. Sat and Sunday there was extremely loud live music in the bar which is directly below room 9 and all rooms nearly. I was exhausted. Of course if I wasn't pregnant web would have been in the bar most likely but that's not my point. We checked with Donal if the room was quiet and we were almost made fools of for asking such a silly question. My point is this: if you are looking for early mornings so go explore the beautiful surroundings of west cork and early nights to feel refreshed make sure you're not above the bar! That's a word of warning to all the cyclist taking part on An Post Ras at the end may which stops if at glengarriff. The food here was lovely and the staff friendly I just feel Donal needs to retrain in customer service and approaching situations in a more professional manner.

We called in on a recommendation from a nice fellow at the island boat trip station.
We weren't disappointed: a very clean, comfortable and spacious room with a superb bathroom (shower, no bath), plus a good tea tray.
We met friends in the bar for drinks and then stayed for dinner. The staff were truly friendly, the beer great, and the food even better.
Breakfast next morning was good too. We thoroughly recommend it.
