Had heard about Wineport Lodge from from friends when in Ireland recently!!Its a beautiful peaceful hotel with great views over the lake!!The staff were very friendly and professional!!!The rooms were great but the real gem was the restaurant!!There are excellent options on both the food and wine menus and we had a great meal in a relaxing atmosphere. Definitely will visit again when back in Ireland!

While making the reservations via email I indicated that we were celebrating our anniversary. Upon checking in, we were surprised with an upgraded room and a tray of cookies with "Happy Anniversary" spelled out in chocolate. All the staff was extremely friendly and helpful with directions and making reservations. Our room was very large, very modern, and right on the water and we had a family of swans come visit us.

This was a last minute booking having found the Hotel through the Blue Book guide. From the initial phone call to check out the next day service was excellent. Charming location of the edge of the lake, delightful fully equipped bedroom with perfect touches for comfort. (Only downside was the lighting in the bathroom which was challenging for both a man shaving and definitely for my make-up application!) We had pre dinner cocktail in the bar where we placed our dinner order and then, without being rushed, were directed to a good table and had a first class meal. We did not have time to sample all the hotel facilities (sadly) but I did have a manicure in the beauty room which was good.

We would recommend this hotel highly.

We stayed at the Wineport for 1 night as we were attending a friend's wedding. I loved it so much we have already booked to go back for a birthday celebration. It's not cheap but it's worth it for a special occasion. On arriving at the hotel, you don't get the full impact of the setting but once you step onto the decking at the front, Lough Ree stretches out in front of you, and on a sunny day (which we were lucky to have), it is really beautiful. There was a champagne reception on the grass by the water's edge, followed by a fantastic meal in the restaurant. The food is 5star, and service excellent. Our room had a great view of the water, and was very modern and clean. It wasn't big but had everything we needed, plus complimentary water, homemade cookies, and Occitane products. Breakfast was again fantastic. There is a spa but sadly we didn't have time to try it.
We loved everything about this hotel and can't wait to go back.

We did indeed fall in love with the Wine Port Lodge. It has absolutely all the ingredients for the most perfect romantic break. We have been there mid week and also week-end and each time we have returned home feeling de stressed and relaxed. The bedroom had amazing views of the lake and it is an absolute must to have breakfast on your balcony in the morning. We were lucky to wake to a beautiful sunny morning. I don't normally like having breakfast in hotel rooms but the Wine Port is the exception to the rule as the food tastes every bit as good as you would get in the restaurant. Dinner the night before was just delicious. The staff are so professional but more importantly they are also friendly without invading your personal space. I wanted dinner to last forever as the food was so good and the restaurant looks so lovely at night overlooking the lake and I just love the little twinkling lights all along the handrail outside. We travelled from Derry and arrived about 4pm so we had time to sit and relax in the wonderful lounge with coffee and home made biscuits.Glasson village is just a couple of miles up the road if you fancy a drink in the local pub but once I check into the wine port wild horses wouldn't get me to move out. Its chill out time and those big comfy sofas in the lounge are just to inviting for a Baileys after dinner. Can't wait to go back maybe for a winter battery recharge. Thanks again to Norma and her team for getting it just right all the time.
