Sheedy's Hotel is a high quality product. It is only 3* rated but should at least be 4*. The restaurant was the best we have visited in Ireland (which tend to be good these days). I had Duck starter and Rabbit main course. The chef /owner has worked in 5* Ashford Castle and it shows. Various awards for food and hospitality are plentiful on the walls of the hotel. The rooms are newly refurbished and have TV / CD player and power shower.
The town of Lisdoonvarna was a bit quite but we explored a few pubs !?!. The Roadside tavern is the best for traditional Irish music. We were able to visit the Aran Islands 20 minutes by car and then 60 by boat. If you want to see the best of what the real Ireland has to offer at a reasonable and affordable price stay here for a day or two.
My wife and I live in Killarney, County Kerry in the South West of Ireland in a place called Killarney and we work in a place called Dingle both very popular tourist destinations in Ireland. At this time of year (July) traffic is bumper to bumper with tourists and the area becomes a bit crowded. To get away from it all we decided to spend a weekend in County Clare which is just a beautiful as Kerry but not a well known. We have used trip advisor for all our holidays in the last two years and have never been disappointed. Thank you trip advisor and thank you Sheedy’s Hotel.
