We arrived at this B&B late in the afternoon of our first day in Ireland. The host, Sean, greeted us, encouraged us to settle in (we planned to stay for two nights) and suggested he make reservations for us for dinner. To top it off, he drove us to the waterfront of Howth, dropped us off at the restaurant, and picked us up later when our dinner was done! And he repeated that the second evening!
The B&B is comfortable, overlooks Howth, and has a garden with fruit bushes which Sean harvests and uses to make fabulous marmalades!
While the facility is comfortable and pleasant, it cannot be described as "charming." But the care and enthusiasm of the host, the helpfulness and thoughtfulness he showed, and the knowledge of the area he shared were outstanding.
We compared a lot of our subsequent lodging with this first one.
The trip upstairs may be difficult so ask for ground floor rooms.
