“The Epitome of a Bed & Breakfast!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 25, 2012

We discovered Ballyduff House upon planning our first trip to Ireland. Bred made us feel at home instantly and we feel we've become fast friends. The home and grounds were beautiful, not to mention the charm of the farm animals. The breakfasts were amazing, the room (and even the bed) was extremely comfortable, and Bred was the ultimately hostess while making us feel like family. Our favorite time spent was sharing a bottle of red wine with her by the fire in the library. We will certainly be making a return visit!

Brede Thomas has opened her family's beautiful Irish country estate to guests. The grounds are typical Irish green with sheep and horses and the house is a grand estate with period furnishings and excellent bedrooms. She cooks a full Irish breakfast, is attentive and friendly, and very willing to share her views on anything Irish. The nearby village of Thomastown is quaint and worth a visit, but the quiet of the country setting and the charm of the manor will possibly keep you on the property during your stay.

Room Tip: Talk with Brede when you make a reservation and she will help you choose.

Beautiful home, with a great coutry house feel. This is the sort of house that you would love to live in if you had lots of staff to look after you - and Breed is on hand to do just that. The parkland setting, the rivver below your windows - can't fault it.

Once again Brede pulled out all the stops for a family gathering to celebrate a significant birthday. This is a lovely house, with great attention paid to period details as well as to comfort and a warm welcome. It is such a pleasure to wander through the elegant rooms and to 'take the air' in the beautifully kept garden. We were a large, diverse group and it was a marvel to see how Brede discreetly looked after us all, from the youngest to the oldest!

Ballyduff House is a unique Guesthouse run by a wonderful owner, Brede. We stayed there with our two children in a beautiful family room overlooking the front green with a luxurious en-suite bathroom. The occasion was a private family party that took place in the beautifully decorated dining room after which we retired to the study/library/sitting room with its roaring fire and stunning period furniture. Our two kids made friends with Brede's dog Jack and still talk about him and the wonderful time they spent in this gorgeous slice of the Kilkenny Countryside. It's a real find!

Ballyduff house is a beautiful place to spend a night or along with that arrange a party. We recently hosted my Mums Birthday party there. I am from the locality and it is such a beautiful area to visit with beautiful views, walk and rivers surrounding you.
We hosted a dinner for my Mum and all our relitives stayed in the house over the weekend. Brede made the whole thing possible and predicted our every move helping to ensure the whole event went smoothly and even though myself and my boyfriend cooked, ensured we had a great time and any things we had forgotten were arranged.
Highly reccommend spending time in Ballyduff House and the surrounding areas.
