Based on trip advisor reviews we chose to stay at Stanley House. We LOVED it. Nancy treated us as family. Our room was beautiful and the breakfasts were delicious. It was one of the highlights of our 18 day Ireland adventure. Word cannot express how relaxing this B&B is so if you're going to be near Schull treat yourself by staying here.

We just returned from two weeks in Ireland that included two nights at Stanley House. Everything nice that reviewers say about Stanley House and Nancy Brosnan is true. The house has beautiful views looking out over nearby meadows and beyond to the harbor at Schull. Our room had a harbor view, and you should try to reserve that if you can. Nancy's breakfasts were excellent. But most of all, Nancy is one of the nicest people that you will ever find running a B&B. If you intend to stay anywhere in this region, then by all means stay at Stanley House. You won't be disappointed!

We have just come back from a 3-night stay in Nancy Brosnan's Stanley House. Having been to many hotels, you cannot beat the genuine, warm personal reception from a proud owner. Everything I read in the reviews on Tripadvisor was true. Stanley House is in a great location, overlooking Schull Harbour, with peaceful surrounds and it really does feel like a home-from-home. The rooms are spotless and I was made feel especially welcome when offered tea and cake one evening when I was in the guest lounge reading the paper. Watching the herd of deers do their "still life" is theraputic too! There is a great walk (not even 2 miles total distance) leaving from the house that leads by the water's edget which was lovely. A thoroughly enjoyable experience. If you want to call back during the day - that is no problem. The breakfasts are amazing and Nancy catered for my coeliac husband only too willingly. A restful night's sleep is guaranteed. Five star - definitely!

From the moment I arrived to a very warm welcome by Nancy Brosnan I was made to feel at home.
I was pleased to find ample safe and spacious parking on site.
My en suite room was immaculately clean, warm and comfortable with a lovely view. Everything is thoughtfully arranged with the guest's comfort in mind. All the rooms at Stanley House are beautifully quiet, so a good night's sleep in the comfortable bed is assured.
Downstairs is a guest sitting room with satelite TV and excellent reading lights plus a good selection of books. There is also a conservatory room overlooking the gardens which is delightful in the morning.
Nancy Brosnan is such a good hostess that her guests are made to feel like visiting royalty, nothing is too much trouble.
Breakfast at Stanley House is a joy that everyone should experience once in their lifetime. The menu caters for every taste from full Irish Breakfast to Fresh fruit with Yoghurt, and is freshly prepared to order by Nancy. The food is DIVINE and far superior to any five star hotel.
There are several lovely walks around the immediate area most of them affording wonderful views of the dramatic scenery. If you wish to travel further afield there are many wonderful places to visit within easy reach by car. Happily the roads in West Cork are still uncrowded !
I have stayed at Stanley House several times over many years and the quality and high standard have never varied. I have always left feeling throughly refreshed and marvelling that such a high standard of hospitality has been available at such a reasonable price.
I would never stay anywhere else, if there isn't a vacancy at Stanley House then I would change the dates of my holidays.

Picture a beautiful bungalow on a hill overlooking a picturesque bay that belongs to a wonderful little fishing village with seafood to die for and several pubs that are absolute gems (An Tigin, Hacketts). Then picture inside the bungalow itself with the sunlight beaming in through the conservatory that overlooks a picturesque bay that belongs to a wonderful little fishing village.....and lovely rooms with beds that make you sleep for ten hours.....and breakfasts that are like no other breakfasts......and it's all wrapped up and presented by the most wonderful host....and that's Nancy Brosnan's Stanley House. A home away from home. You'll end up coming back again. And again. And again. Perfect.

We have just booked for our l3th visit to Stanley House, which is in itself the best recommendation. We have toured Southern Ireland extensively but every year we find something new in and around Schull.

The view from Stanley House has its own magic with spectacular seascapes. Schull is a quaint and lively town with friendly people and some interesting shops not to mention good eating.

Stanley House itself is wonderful; comfortable rooms that are spotless and a wide variety of excellent breakfasts - and then there's Tom and Nancy who are the perfect hosts.

Schull is a good centre for touring the villages of the Mizen Peninsula, the southwest coastline and the west coast of Ireland .

Schull is an easy 2 hour drive from Cork Airport or ferry.

Clean as a whistle, with a wonderful host – Nancy Brosnan, beautiful grounds and delicious breakfast. Although there was a ‘No Vacancies’ sign hanging at the door, we rang the bell and asked for a room. She did not have any available, just a small one that apparently was used sometimes as a single, that had a trundle bad. She let us have it, and it was fantastic. This is definitely a place to recommend.
