“Wonderful hotel in a great location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 1, 2013

While On a family history tour from Canada, with my cousin from Ireland, we stayed at The Waters Edge Hotel for two nights. It is a lovely little hotel with a great restaurant. We had a fantastic view of Cork Harbour. Staff were most helpful. It is very centrally located, you can walk to most tourist attractions. Driving through Cobh is an experience in itself!

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a view of the harbour.

Cobh is wonderful for sightseeing ...historical sights include The Titanic Experience. The Michael Martin Titanic Walking tour, the Queenstown Museum and Cobh History Museum. Waters Edge has a great view of the water and an excellent restaurant with full breakfast. The staff were attentive, courteous and made our 25th wedding anniversary stay lovely!

We like everything about Waters Edge...Someone who cannot walk for a distance could still see two of the three major museums as they are within one block of Water's Edge...however, the hills are steep so the walking tour would not work.

Where to start, friendly staff, nice rooms, excellent breakfast and dinner all with a water view at a reasonable rate. Cobh is a quaint town steeped in Irish history. This small town is where the Titanic departed for the US and where the Lusitania was headed. The town has several restaurants and pubs from which to choose. The town landscape is dwarfed by the Coleman Cathedral which is second only to St Patrick's in NY. The cathedral offers tours for a small (your choice) donation. The hotel is in city center and is walking distance to all the attractions and restaurants/pubs. Many travelers were there because family members left Ireland from here. The hotel was terrific and we would stay there again.

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the bay, have breakfast included in your room rate.

Room was lovely with a great view of the harbour. Dinner was delicious coupled with very friendly staff and reasonably priced.

Great location within walking distance of the town centre.

I would highly recommend it.

We stayed for two nights at this hotel and they were brilliant. My husband was taken ill and they couldn't have been more helpful. Their hospitality was excellent. We had a lovely room with a balcony which looked out over the bay, everything was lovely and the breakfasts were a treat. We will definitely be going back!!!!

Room Tip: Ask for one of the rooms on the ground floor with a balcony that looks over the bay
