“Great Food and service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 30, 2014

Was down in Bantry for the weekend, I decided to pop into this little pub at about 8.45 for some food. I was greeted with a smile, got what I could only call a savage pot of mussels and brown bread. I must have been still eating at 10pm. There was no pressure put on me to finish up and both barmen shared a few friendly words. I would certainly recommend this pub/ restaurant to friends. I will call again.

“Great Spot”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 23, 2014

Had some drinks on a Saturday night and went back for lunch the following day. Lovely spot, great friendly staff and Irish Coffees to die for! Make sure to get Colette to make them. Lovely atmosphere :)

“Great meal, well worth it!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 14, 2014

Just had four of the most amazing steaks in The Snug this evening. Huge cuts of meat, great flavor and cooked exactly as ordered. Couldn't say one bad word about the meal. Great to know the meat is local. Brilliant service as usual such a welcoming atmosphere

“Once you have been you will keep coming back!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 3, 2014 via mobile

The Snug is one of those rare finds.Fantastic pub serving fabulous food. You always get a great welcome and great service from Maurice&Colette O'Donovan. Its the sort of place you pop into for a quick drink or bite to eat but you end up staying for hours. It has a warm welcoming atmosphere and it is somewhere you find yourself returning to again and again.
If you haven't tried it get yourself down there pronto!!

“Excellent food-reasonably priced.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 3, 2014

I have recently eaten at The Snug, Bantry, and the food was excellent - the seafood chowder (served with plenty brown soda bread and butter) is worth the visit alone and our maincourse steaks were perfectly cooked and so tasty that I would strongly recommend them - the atmosphere was cosy and warm and the drinks (Murphy's stout) were cold and creamy. The only regret was that we didn't have room for dessert! The service was prompt and friendy and the price was reasonable.Must visit again soon!
