We were in Ireland for a family wedding and stayed at Liss Ard for four nights. If you want to get away from it all, but at the same time be thoroughly spoiled, this is the place for you. Comfortable rooms, fabulous food and the friendliest, most helpful staff imaginable. Nothing was too much trouble for Kate and the rest of the gang, from booking a hairdresser, to arranging taxis, producing terrific food, right down to telling us stories about the area and its history.
The gardens are great, particularly the magical Crater which is like nothing I've ever seen anywhere: an oasis of absolute peace and quiet where you can lie down and gaze up at the wide sky.
Our visit was more like a house-party than just a hotel stay and we can thoroughly recommend Liss Ard Country House.
