Stopped at the Barracks Heritage Centre as a side-trip on our trip around the Ring of Kerry. We were greeted by a very friendly and passionate man at the desk who was more than happy to give us a quick introduction to the building and get us started. The building itself was an old RIC barracks that they were able to convert in the 1990's to a town historical center. There was a wealth of information in the building, but it's presentation lacked a polished feel that made it fully enjoyable. I found myself wanting to just take pictures of the walls to read all the information presented later as my legs were getting tired. The photo opportunity at the top of the lookout tower was so-so. The portholes were unusable in all but one case.
Great staff, and very enthusiastic about their mission, just need to work on presentation.
