I really don't know where to start on this one guys, if one was looking for a welcome that encommpasses all the genuine warmth and caracter that South Kerry has to offer, i reckon The Olde Glenbeigh Hotel would be where one should start, From the rustic, but very comfortable bar/lounge offering a really tasty menu, which on ordering emerged quickly as an even tastier meal, served up by the most unpretensious and friendly staff i have come across in many a year.
All i can say is that i was grateful that my partner and i had chosen to book in here for the night on our trip round the magical Ring of Kerry, thus we had the chance to absorb the authentic friendly, atmosphere of the bar with the help of some very tastey Guinness and entertaining chat with the staff and the locals alike!! On being shown to our room we were left practically speachless at the sheer charm of the pastel shaded decor, i recall my Partner and i sitting for many minutes on the edge of the comphy quilted bed just taking in the feel of times past, "this was not a Days Inn" but the stuff memories are made of..after a Wonderful nights sleep we woke refreshed to another Beautiful surprise, our 2nd floor room looked out over the most picturesque garden with a flame red roderdendern in full bloom directly outside our seated baywindow and a view out over Dingle Bay in the distance, money can't buy such moments, so we couldn't resist just sticking on the kettle and sitting there to take it all in with a cup of tea in hand.
After showering in the very spacious bathroom we decended the stairs in what felt like "Lord and Lady of the Manor" Style, to a period dining room, every bit the equal of our amazing bedroom, with fantastic views over the garden, this is really one for period house Lovers.
All that is left to be said here is that the extensive a la carte breakfast menu and the wonderful breakfast and service which followed from it did not disappoint, Well Done the Owners and Staff at The Olde Glenbeigh Hotel, Will we be Returning to you? A most definite YES!!! POST HASTE!!! To the readers of this Review..Apoligies for my long windedness but seriousley, i could have gone on more, it was an unforgettable stay, If a Picture were to be painted to discribe The Olde Glendeigh Hotel, it would be a scene from the film "the quite man" done in the style of the artist "Monet", i hope that image makes sense? otherwise you'll just have to "Experience it for Yourselves!!! Enjoy...
