“Wonderful venue”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 2, 2013

We were invited to attend a private party at the Sol y Sombra and our immediate reaction on going inside was 'what a fantastic venue' to hold an event. The staff couldn't have been more helpful and the food and service was excellent. Wish we lived locally so that we could use this restaurant and bar regularly.

“A wonderful night in amazing Restaurant”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 1, 2013

We recently had a 80th birthday party for my mum at Sol y Sombra, the venue was perfect as we had over 100 guests from all different ages. The food and atmosphere was just wonderful. The staff could not have been more helpful and attentive giving a warm welcome to all our guests as they arrived, nothing was too much trouble for them. The management recommended the band who were also fantastic and was perfect for this venue. A Big thanks from all our family to all the staff at Sol y Sombra.

“Fantastic place - great experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 25, 2013

Travelled to Killorglin as a guest to a party, for which the restaurant was exclusively hired. The venue itself was amazing and the ambience was lovely. Sol y Sombra is beautifully decorated and has a light and airy feel – it was perfect for such a special occasion. The staff were helpful, friendly and attentive. The food was delicious and I would love to return on a future visit to Ireland.

“Great place for a party, meal or just drinks and tapas”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 25, 2013

I have been to this place twice whilst on holiday from the UK. The first time was for drinks and tapas. The first thing that strikes you is the amazing interior - a really tasteful conversion of a former Church of Ireland church, complete with stained glass. There is an excellent selection of wines, especially Spanish wines from wineries less well known in the UK. The tapas were outstanding.

The second occasion was for a private party. At this event, the food served was a mix of traditional Spanish and traditional Irish, with some fusion in the tapas. The quality was second to none and the staff were all so friendly, yet highly efficient and professional, enhancing the atmosphere of the event. If you are visiting this area, this restaurant is a must!
