When our family arrived in Clifden late evening on day 7 of our trip (Friday), my son was beginning to have withdrawals from having not eaten a hamburger for almost a week. The night clerk at the hotel recommended Mannion's as a place that serves burgers. Wife and daughter were not interested, and went to eat seafood at Mitchell's, while son and I journeyed to Mannion's, and I am so glad we did. Son got his burger, and I had the special of the day, what seemed like 5 pounds of fresh steamed mussels (not a dead one in the bunch) with a side of brown bread and butter. Plus a few pints of Guinness. Plus traditional Irish music! (Live traditional music plays on Friday and Saturday nights.) It was win – win – win for everybody.
