Stopped by this hotel during a girly weekend to Clifden, we had been here years ago and thought we would stop by again. The place is under new management and wow, what a job they have done to the place. The lobby is bright and welcoming and not the dark and old fashioned hotel that I remembered. The was an art exhibition with paintings in the restaurant and lobby with many from Kenneth Webb, one of my favourite artists and it was lovely being able to just walk round and enjoy them all and one of the staff even showed us round them pointing out her favourites. The hotel bar has plenty of information about the history of the flight pioneers Alcock and Brown and Declan at reception offered us directions to their original landing site, which unfortunately we didn't get round to doing on this trip, next time! We only stopped off for coffees but judging by the food that we saw being served it was definetly mouth watering and great value. We were lucky enough to have a sunny day and had our coffees out on the deck outside and happily soaked up the views of Clifden, bliss. Next visit we will defintelty be stopping off here again.
