“Awesome hosts”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 18, 2012

We stayed at Coatesland House B and B last week and really loved it. It was very clean, comfortable, spacious and well located. The hosts Florence and Donal were so attentive to our every need. They go out of their way to make you feel at home. Breakfast is really special-delicious food that is served in a large, pretty glass sunroom. I would recommend this b and b to everyone.

AA++. My husband and I spent one night enjoying the unbelievable hospitality of Florence and Donal (and Winnie) in the relaxing environment of at their oh so pleasant home. Our room was spacious, clean, quiet and comfortable. Breakfast in their huge glass-enclosed breakfast conservatory was over the top with a beautifully prepared Irish breakfast and an abundant selection of fresh fruit, cheese, salmon, breads, cereals, etc. The location was great and within a pleasant 10-minute walk to the center of Adare. As other reviewers have said--Florence and Donal couldn't have been better hosts!! Despite our arriving frustrated over an "unusual" travel issue which Florence addressed with haste and resolution, we made to feel so welcome. Should we find ourselves returning to enjoy Ireland again, we would go out of our way to return to stay with our newly found friends.

During a visit to Adare, me and my wife stayed at Coatesland house, owned and run by the lovely couple Florence and Donal. I don't think there are enough words to describe how nice they (and their very charismatic dog Weenie) are, I'll go directly to the B&B itself!
The room we stayed in was nicely decorated and had just about everything we could need. From a fridge, to fruit and sweets, cotton balls, sewing kits, kettle and cookies, ... everything!
We didn't use the common areas but the new breakfast room was large and full of light and the breakfast itself was extraordinary, starting with fruit and followed by a delicious full irish, while a table with cheese, ham, juices, smoked salmon and other delicacies were available.
The B&B itself is at a 10 minute walk from the center of Adare. The rates were also very good, especially when compared to other B&B's we've stayed at in Ireland.
This is definitely a place to return!

Room Tip: Room 222 was a nice double bedroom.

This was the best place to spend our first night in Ireland. Florence and her husband saw to everything that we might need. My two daughters and I couldn't think of a thing that we would need. The home was clean, beautiful, comfortable........you couldn't ask for anything more.
She cooked our first breakfast in Ireland, and she went overboard!!!! Youwere treated like family. My daughter even took their dog, Winnie, for a walk in the morning. Everything was perfect...............I can't stop bragging about Coatesland House, a must stay. I must add a suggestion......make sure you take time at breakfast and listen to Florence talk the history of the area and Ireland, she has a wealth of information.

We've stayed in Adare three times now, using it as our last-night-in-Ireland base, close to the Shannon airport. We chose Coatesland House this time, based on TripAdvisor reviews, and, as usual, were not disappointed. Flo and Donal go out of their way to make your visit enjoyable. They've been hosting visitors for many years, and it shows. Due to our flight schedule out of Shannon, we had to depart well before their planned breakfast hours, but they insisted on getting up early to make coffee and a light breakfast of fruit, rolls, cheeses and meats. The room was clean and more than adequate in size for two people. The food and the hospitality were second to none.

We're dog people, so we asked to meet Winnie, the friendly rescue dog. I don't think we would have known she was there if it hadn't come up in the conversation - a good thing, I guess, if you really don't appreciate dogs.

If you haven't been there recently, check out the new breakfast room on the back of the house. It's huge, bright and cheery, even if you're eating before the sun comes up as we did.

We'll return to Ireland, and we'll return to Coatesland House when we do.

We arrived later than expected to Coatesland, the fire was roaring, warm and waiting for us. We enjoyed some tea and biscuits while we shared our day with Florence. Then she and Donal helped us plan our next. This B&B is superb. Our room was beautiful and spacious. The bathroom was nice and the bath towels were huge! Loads of hot water!! They are within walking distance to Adare Village, Florence suggested a pub in town and the meal was excellent. In the morning we were greeted with a breakfast spread you have to see to believe. Fresh fruit, cold cereals, cheeses, yogurts, juices, breads and that was just the buffet table. There is also Donal's famous hot porridge, and your choice of a traditional Irish breakfast or pancakes. We had a fair amount of time to visit with Florence, since we were at Coatesland for 3 nights. Florence has had a very interesting life. I found her story on why she owns a B&B very interesting. They have a lovely dog-Winnie, who is very well behaved. Winnie has a good life story, too. It was hard to leave on our last morning with Florence and Donal, but I know I will be back there someday.

When I arrived at Coatesland, I was relieved to find how easy it was to get there. It's just a short walk from the nice town of Adare. The owners are very pleasant and very welcoming. The breakfast is so delicious and hearty. My bedroom was well furnished and cozy. My bathroom was clean as a whistle.

The owners will put a fire on for you and you can relax and enjoy the country side right in the backyard.

Great place to setup H.Q. while you explore the lower West of Ireland. Writing about it makes me want to go back.
