Description: Established in 1846 Bill Chawke's Bar, located in the heart of Adare Village, Co. Limerick is a fine traditional bar with a great reputation for providing some of the best hospitality around. Our recently refurbished bar is an excellent place to watch our local Adare GAA heroes and all the other major sporting events live on our LCD High Definition TVs. Our live weekly traditional music sessions are famous and bring a wealth of musicians and music lovers through our doors. Our kitchen serves delicious traditional fare every day and customers keep coming back to us for a bite to eat or simply relax with a pint or glass of their favourite tipple. We have a truly superior beer garden which is the envy of every pub in the county; we just wish we could 'serve up' good weather for our customers to relax in it on those soft Irish summer days and not need one of our waterproof parasols. Our beer garden also has state of the art BBQ facilities and is a favourite with locals and visitors who like to dine and entertain al fresco whatever the occasion. Good quality service, delicious food and a friendly and welcoming atmosphere is what we are all about and we think we deliver, in spades! Awarded the Prestigious Licensing World Country Bar of the Year 2010!

“Friendly Staff”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 18, 2014

Stopped off in Adare for a quick bite to eat and didn't want to leave. The staff in Chawkes were superb, made us feel very welcome and the service was fantastic. We really enjoyed our food, a good selection to suit our group. We enjoyed the ambiance so much we stayed for a few drinks, we will definitely be back.

“Go for the music!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 11, 2014

Looking for some pub food- nothing fancy, but what we found was amazing. The food was good, but the music that started at 9 was fantastic! Local musicians playing folk music . Started with two guys and ended with five guys. They were just enjoying a pint and playing their tunes. Recommend you go about eight to get a sandwich or plate and stay for the show!

Don't think that attitude is acceptable for someone dealing with the public. Some people training skills badly needed !!!!

“disappointed hen”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed July 7, 2014

A group of nine hungry and thirsty ladies arrived at this bar on a sunday afternoon. We were celebrating a Hen party and needless to say were nursing some heads but were ready to continue on with the craic after some pick me ups. The bar was a bit busy but nothing too hectic and there was three members of staff on duty. Firstly we waited around ten mintues to be served as the members of staff remained in the upper part of the bar, when finally served by the barmaid, we asked for three coffees. The reply from the barmaid was " three Coffees???" and sniggered into the ladies face. She appeared by the tone of her voice to be disgusted by our choice of beverages and as if she was been put out for doing so. When asked if she a problem with us having coffees and that we were having some alcohol as well did she appear to be willing to serve us.at that we did leave the bar and brought our custom else where. As a local it was very disappointed and as the hen, I was considering this bar for the after party for my wedding this September but will be reconsidering now. Service within the bar was poor and staff attitude not very welcoming.
