“Ok food but very expensive”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 15, 2012 via mobile

Had a meal here with friends. There was no atmosphere, and it was pretty cool and draughty. The service was fine and there was a large selection on the menu but it was extraordinarily expensive. Starters ranged from €8.50 to €11.50 and the mains went from €15 to €26. I had the chicken liver pâté to start, it was ok with plain toast, the bought in pâté and bought in relish. The 10oz I ordered was of good size but I ordered rare and got medium well, it was dear at €27. Selection of ice cream for dessert was fine. In all, for the cost of the meal it should have been a good deal better. I think if this place put A pit of effort into the little things on each dish it would serve them well. It charged near fine dining prices for what essentially was hotel bar food. If the prices were more reasonable this could be a reasonable place to eat!

“Sort the coffee out”

Lovely place great food good service but pity about the coffee - asked for Cappuccino & got a watery version of a Latte smothered in chocolate powder
If you call it Cappucino learn to make it !

“Great grub but starting to get pricey!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2012 via mobile

Stopped inn the Boardwalk with a gang of friends recently for lunch. There were a few of but no issues in getting seated. Lovely atmosphere songs a great buzz. The place as usual was busy. Excellent menu and loads of choices. Food for lunch is a bit pricey compared to others in area. But it is excellent food! The staff are very friendly however service can be slow. Paying was a long process with only one person available for the whole restaurant to settle their bills with. It was a busy lunchtime but with all the stags and hens and parties who visit the town they should be set up for this. Drinks are not the cheapest and my gripe with the landmark is that if you as there for a wedding the drinks are more expensive in the ballroom. This is Leitrim not Dublin and the Celtic tiger era is long gone. Apart from that would definitely eat here again.
