I stayed in Battlebridge over the St.Patrick's weekend . I was staying two nights. The site is very easy to find and when you arrive you see instantly that is kept tidy and to a high standard.
The staff and owners are very friendly and welcoming and happy to stand and have a chat with all their customers. The grounds were lovely and there is a place where boats can dock here as well as a place where people with tents can pitch too. The pub is within very easy walking distance which came in handy that particular weekend. The facilities on site are typical of what most sites of this kind will have. Washing facilities, rubbish disposal, toilets, etc.All clean !!
The local town is minutes away with a bigger town a few miles away.Country walks are perfect in this area and it was a wonderful peaceful stay ! Will definitely come back again.

Room Tip: For a more peaceful stay ,perhaps park at the quieter parts of the site away from the pub .

This was our first time glamping and I have to say we were very impressed and will definitely be back to Battlebridge. The glamping tent was fantastic with a stove, electricity points, tea lights, complimentary wine on arrival, cooking utensils etc. We lit the stove both nights and it kept us cosy and warm. The kids enjoyed playing on the swings and slide in the park and the recreation room with toys, snooker and foosball table was a big hit with the kids. The BBQ provided for our tent was great and we cooked outdoors each evening. We were lucky to have good weather and enjoyed glamping with our two kids. Great fishing opportunities on site and electric bike hire available in Leitrim Village. Toilets and showers on site were very convenient. Next time we visit Battlebridge, we plan to try the new Eco-Pods as they look great! I would recommend Battlebridge to anyone looking for a fun weekend outdoors that is a little bit different. It would be great if your website featured a list of items provided at the site, we brought charcoal, cutlery etc, which we didn't need as everything was provided. Overall a very positive experience enjoyed by all the family. Thanks Eilish!

Just back from a few nights stay at this site,a lot of improvements needed here, toilet and kitchen areas clean but site itself shabby, seems like nobodys in charge, anyone can enter this park at night time through open gates with no one around to question them.Dont look for anything to eat around 9/930pm or you will be told no,end of story. No food served on Sunday until 5pm,you have to go to leitrim for a breakfast if you want one.Certain staff members have no manners whatsoever and would be better off somewhere else but are very quick to take your money .i think if the owners looked from a campers side they would see for themselves the changes that need to be made,if not it will be known for all the wrong reasons.

just back from a couple of nights camping and yet again another great stay. This time I travelled with four kids ages 1, 4, 8 & 9 and all loved it here. Mainly due to the small but safe kids playground. As usual staff were polite and helpful. toilets spotless. Kitchen area also spotless and the kids indoor play area / TV room passed a few valuable hours when weather wasn't great. Sadly only downer was some thick stole the dvd player from the tv room ( not the campsites fault) highlight of stay was opening the tent door in the morning with a famliy of swans only 10 yards from tent wating to be fed.

Stayed in Battlebridge last weekend for a hen do. I was the organiser of the party and we wanted something fun, classy and different. Battlebridge was definitely a good choice. The eco-pods were comfortable, warm, and really cute. The beds were very comfortable, but the fold-out ones were less so. It was great to have a little space and umbrella outside the eco-pod. Our party loved them - loved having our own space and privacy as well. The campsite is well placed in relation to the thriving Carrick-on-Shannon and it really was a perfect location for us.

However, there were some drawbacks which would stop me wholeheartedly recommending Battlebridge. While the campsite was nice and laid-back, this relaxed nature transferred to the organisers also. I had booked the eco-pods months in advance - paid a large deposit for the weekend, yet after many emails and phone call requests, no-one from Battlebridge got back to me to answer questions I had about the upcoming stay for our group. I found that as soon as the deposit was paid, all communication went out the window. This is unacceptable to me, and I think that the owners should realise that organising group holidays is a difficult task and they should be more hands-on to help their prospective guests.

I also agree with other reviewers - there needs to be a designated Reception area. We arrived and wandered around for fifteen minutes by chance bumping into an American lady who worked at the park. She was then able to direct us to our pods. We spend Friday - Sunday at Battlebridge and the pub was not serving food on the Friday night, owing to the chef being off. Food served from 5-9pm on Saturday. We had to go all the way into Carrick-on-Shannon to avail of a cafe which was disappointing. Also, the pub was closed until quite late on the Friday - so we didn't even get the opportunity to purchase milk, etc from the store that is apparently located inside.

We really did enjoy our stay in Battlebridge and the pods are great. It is very scenic and the site itself is good. I really just feel that with a little more attention to detail and customer service focus, Battlebridge could be much better. Three toilets and two showers to service an entire campsite is not enough. The managers should be more organised. There should be better food facilities on site. These are all very small demands, but would have made the world of difference.

That said, it was a good way to spend a hen weekend. Just a lot of extra little hassles that needn't have been!

We rang looking for a pitch only Saturday morning and they told us they would keep one for us. They did, well done.
The site is beautifully located and we found the staff very nice and helpful. It was extremly busy that weekend and on Saturday evening when we went to the pub for some dinner the place was packed but we got sitting and had a lovely meal and stayed for the music after which turned in to a great night.
However may I make a suggestion about the tent area. There is no room for cars along that road when you are trying to move campers in or out. We had to get owners to move theirs' on two occasions, lucky that they were about. Can the tent owners not leave their cars in the car park once they are set up?
Also dogs roaming about are not very nice in a campsite and I did see a notice warning owners about this in the pub but it needs to be enforced.
One of the showers (3, 1 in the invalid toilet) in the mens didn't work, (€1.50 later) and had'nt done for some time it seems as others could tell me. An out of order sign would have been helpful as I only had the correct money with me. Some kind guest gave me the money as I had togged off at this stage and would have had to dress up to go back to the van for more. And more toilets please, there is not enough for the amount of people on site.
And yes like other reviewers a dedicated booking office and reception would not be too much to ask for.
This is a lovely spot but could be a great spot with just a bit more effort. We have stayed in campsites that are not rated in the top ten as this one is, and found them much better equipped and more user friendly.
So come on, get up there with the likes of Caseys, Dungarvan. Now there is a class site.
We will be back to see the improvements.
