“Valentine's Weekend”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 17, 2014

Had a lovely meal in Crackpots on Saturday.
Was in Kinsale for Valentines weekend and Crackpots was recommended to me.
Starters were delicious, well presented and hot! Main courses of Steak and Lamb Cutlets were superb.
Good choice of wine - although a slight bugbear of mine is to have red wine that is not room temp... our wine seemed very cold and we had to stand it by the radiator to warm up. No specific glasses for white / red wine but a minor detail.
Dessert was tasty too. Service was hit and miss - table checked twice whilst having main but could not get anyone's attention then to order dessert. Overall very good but for €100 would have expected the little details to be taken care of.

“Delicious food, service over and above”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 27, 2013

We began as a quiet, early bird, party of three adults, but then expanded to include our entire extended family, children included. While I recommend the restaurant for the former, I cannot say enough about how sweet and accommodating Crackpots' staff was once the whole gang arrived. The food was fabulous, especially the scallops and mussels.

“Quaint restaurant in the center of town”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 30, 2013

We visited during the Gourmet Festival, so did our research early to find this restaurant and reserve a spot. Glad we did as the food was excellent, and the wine list good. Had 1 of our best wines at this restaurant. We joined the large table next to us for a few songs and good cheer. Carole is the owner, and very friendly. She made our visit there enjoyable.

“Our first meal in Kinsale”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 27, 2013

We lucked into an "early bird" at Crackpots, just a very short walk from our B&B. The restaurant is charming and our hostess was pleasant. Our server, a young lass, couldn't have been cuter or more accommodating. We enjoyed the soup,du jour, the poached salmon, roasted veggies and the vanilla ice cream with berry sauce very much. We were happy that we caught this restaurant on an evening when they were open, because that is not always the case, we later learned. Highly recommend this restaurant.

“Great Appetizers”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed October 24, 2013

We had amazing appetizers. We should have left after them. We were treated poorly by the wait staff and served mediocre food. Our only disappointing experience in Ireland.
