The Olde Bakery is nicely situated in a quiet location, yet a very short walk from the center of Kinsale.

We were greeted by Chrissie with incredible warmth and friendliness. She seemed like the aunt which I never had. Tom, although somewhat more reserved was equally friendly and warm.

Our upstairs room was quaint and on the small side, but it served its purpose. We were overlooking the street, but there was very little noise and we had a restful night's sleep (this was Friday and Saturday during the Kinsale Jazz festival).

Breakfast was served at a table in their kitchen and was delightful. It truly felt as if we part of an Irish family, which I appreciated. Tom, who did much of the cooking, was very helpful with directions.

Our stay with Chrissie and Tom at the Olde Bakery was one of the highlights of our two week stay in Ireland.

Great location in Kinsale. Charming looking property from the outside. Comfortable inside but you really do have the sense of staying in someone's home which I found a little overwhelming. Breakfast is very good but served in the kitchen, there is just one table and you eat with the other guests. Hostess is also very present all the time. Didn't feel a great sense of freedom to come and go. Room nice, bathroom nice and all seemed clean. Felt the bed linen was a bit tired and could do with updating. Personaly I prefer the sheets to be white - I guess it's just a personal thing! This place will really appeal to some and not to others I think.

We spent 3 nights with Chrissy at the Olde Bakery B & B. We were somewhat skeptical, since the bathroom facilities were "across the hall" but we were pleasantly surprised. While some of the rooms are ensuite ours only had a sink and we used the bathroom facilities across the hall, which were not shared with anyone else.

The room and bathroom were exceptionally clean and there were even terrycloth robes for our use.

Chrissy greeted us and we immediately felt welcome. I told her Bill was anxious about where to park our car and she came right outside and (in the drizzle) showed us exactly where to park. While this was our 4th Irish B & B, her Irish brogue was especially pleasant. It was like we had known her all of our lives.

She gave us some info on restaurants in the area and all were very good.

The Town of Kinsale itself is lovely, we took a walkling tour of the town and also a boat tour of the harbor. Beautiful scenery all around and lots of history for such a little town.

We took a day trip to Cobh but spent most of our time in Kinsale.

Chrissy's "poridge" was wonderful as was everything else in on her breakfast menu.

Tom was away while we were there so Chrissy had to pull double duty but she was up to the task.

Thank you Chrissy for a lovely and memorable stay in Kinsale.

“Fantastic Introduction to Ireland”

The Olde Bakery

Five of us stayed here for two nights near the end of August...my Mom and aunt; my 22 year old daughter; and my husband & I. We drove straight from Cork airport, followed Tom's directions and didn't have much trouble finding The Olde Bakery. Kinsale is a very lovely town and the B & B is within walking distance to all the shops, restaurants and bars. Chrissie and Tom were wonderful hosts, and made us feel right at home. We loved the dogs (we have the same kind at home) Very comfortable beds. The breakfasts were outstanding. I had Tom's porridge and his own honey both mornings. Tom was very helpful providing us with directions for our drive from Kinsale to Co. Wexford as well as some excellent history lessons. I can't imagine finding a nicer place to stay in all of Ireland. We spent over two more weeks in Ireland after Kinsale and our experiences in Kinsale remain a highlight.

We thoroughly enjoyed our 2-night stay with Chrissie and Tom at The Olde Bakery! It was close to everything, the rooms were comfortable and we felt very welcome. Breakfast was fabulous...Wexford strawberries, eggs with smoked salmon, brown bread...I want to go back now!
