Stayed at the Friars Lodge mid-April for two nights. It was more like a small hotel than a B&B. Location was central and quiet. There was ample parking and the room was very spacious. Although we enjoyed our stay, we did have some remarks. The mattress protection cover was plastic, which made sleeping a sweaty event, the staff was a bit indifferent and the breakfast was disappointing. A good breakfast should consist of several types of bread (there was only white and brown toast and soda bread - typical Irish, but not everyone's fare), coldcuts (there were none), cheeses (menu stated there were several types, but there was only one - I asked) and yoghurts (there was plain and fruit yoghurt, but when plain yoghurt ran out, there was none anymore - I asked). Of course there were also traditional Irish breakfast items, such as porridge, scrambled eggs with salmon, and the fully cooked breakfast, but when travelling for a long time in Ireland, you really tire of these things.
Nevertheless, we had a good stay at the Friars Lodge.
