Called in for a one night stay. We were told they were fully booked but then told there was one of the 3 bedroom houses available if just for one night.
Amazing accomodation, lovely house, huge rooms very clean and comfortable. For just two of us it was incredible and only charged £100 for the night.
Breakfast was the best we have ever known anywhere so much choice, including full Irish, smoked salmon etc. Plus Danish pastries, cereals, fresh fruit juices.
Altogether a brilliant stay and Kinsale is lovely with terrific entertainment in pubs.
Would like to go again with family and stay in the lovely house.

Our room was a triple, spotless, large, efficient, and quiet. They have parking in the back of the building at no cost. The staff is helpful with suggestions, reservations, and generalities. A nice touch is the sherry in the lobby for the guests to sip on while waiting for a spouse or kid to get ready for the evening out. Internet is in the lobby area only, which is the one downside. Breakfast was a combo self-serve and hot order and was substantial and good. The hotel is up a small hill just off the main area of Kinsale. Easy, easy walking distance to any and everything in this great little "Tidy Town." If I said five minutes to the main street that might be too much. We were glad to be slightly back from the most trafficked zone as the quietude is nice in the evening. Most of the reviews are quite similar to our experience.

Room Tip: Front rooms have a better view, back rooms are quieter.

Myself and my wife returned to the Friars Lodge after first visiting eight years ago and found it just as welcoming as it was then. All the rooms are very spacious and comfortable and kept to a very high standard. The choice for breakfast is amazing with of course a special mention for the full Irish. It's proximity to kinsale town centre is of great benefit as you can easily walk home after a night out. I highly recommend the Friars Lodge for a weekend get away.

Huge room. Like home! Pleasantly greeted with recommendations for dinner. Oh, and if you haven't been to Kinsale Ireland, this is a must stop. It is so sweet and cute. The Charles Fort is a must. We loved it there. Go ahead and give it a whirl!

One of the best B & B's in Kinsale, with Friendly helpful staff & Maureen the owner always willing to go the 'extra mile' if you need help or advice about the local area. Large comfortable Rooms with all facilities, excellent breakfast with a wide choice of meals, two WiFi hotspots & a PC available. Large off street secure parking area, ideal for the car tourer. We have stayed in Friar's Lodge for some years now when our Classic Car Club visits our 'twin' Kinsale Classic Motor Club for their annual International Rally in May. Maureen has always made us welcome & allowed us to use her Lounge for socialising. We have already booked our rooms for next year!
Highly Recommended.

Room Tip: Front top floor rooms have a great view over Kinsale

Just returned from a golf trip to Ireland, started with 2 nights in Kinsale at the Friars Lodge. Our FLT arrived in Shannon at 7am. After calling ahead of time, Maureen had our 2 rooms ready for us at 11 am for an early check in, since we had a 2:30 tee time. Rooms were spacious and clean. Breakfast was good and made to order each morning. Would return for a stay here again on my next visit and would reccommend it to friends.
