A group of four of us stayed in Kinsale near the end of our week-long tour of Ireland. We had previously stayed at The Westin in Dublin and also at the Fairgreen Hotel in Galway City.

The Blindgate House was our favorite of the trip and was very charming and comfortable. Kinsale is a great place to visit and it was nice to come back to relax after a day of touring Kinsale.

Maeve (the owner) was very gracious and provided us with everything we needed including wine glasses and an opener to help with the bottle of wine we purchased in town. We were able to sit around in the cozy common area next to a fireplace and have our wine while discussing where to have dinner for the evening.

The rooms are very spacious and there is a great view of the surrounding area if you are on the 2nd floor. I would recommend this B&B to anyone that is going to be in the area. And if you are considering coming to Kinsale I highly recommend it. Great time!!!

Stayed here in Oct. 2005. First of all, Kinsale is a wonderful little town, and this inn, situated a short walk from the city center, is very nicely done and had all the comforts of home. Would stay here again and highly recommend it.

“Highlight of our trip!”

Stayed here in May, 2003. There were six of us, three couples, traveling together, and this our favorite place we stayed in Ireland. Kinsale is the most picturesque, charming town, worth a day or two. The Blindgate House is located just on the outskirts of this tiny town up on a hill. It's an easy walk down into town. We talk about our stay at the "Pottery Barn" house; it is a large house with very tasteful and comfortable furnishings. The rooms were spacious, the beds very comfortable. The house has a few common areas for sitting and reading, one room with a fireplace. The owner of the House couldn't have been more helpful or accommodating. We had some problems with our arrival dates and she gave directions, made allowances for our late arrival, and was warm and helpful. Breakfast is included with the room, which was made to order--fresh fruit, eggs as you like, great coffee and of course that amazing Irish brown bread. If we hadn't been locked into the rest of our trip we all would have loved to stay there another night or two. When we return to Ireland, we will definately stay at this quiet, comfortable, find of a guesthouse!
