We booked 2 nights B+B at An Sugan and were really impressed with the gorgeous rooms, great shower, crisp white bedlinen and fab location, all this for €35 B+B per nite! the breakfast is to die for especially the Irish Mist porridge+ scrambled eggs+ smoked salmon. Previous comments on staff were certainly not our experience with everyone being friendly+ helpful. Would definitely recommend the restaurant the atmosphere, food and portions were superb. Will be back!

Room Tip: The bedroom windows are single-glazed so if you have trouble sleeping ask for a room at the back as...

Went here on a friends recommendation on tuesday last. Two non Irish waitresses were on and one with the long black hair was so rude. She didn't smile once and kept scowling at where we left our buggy. We ordered 2 simple sandwiches but it took almost 50minutes for them to arrive.. Seriously it was a toasted sandwich and a beef bap-which were lovely in fairness. We were there with a 2year old so were hopin for quicker service but didn't receive any explanation for the delay.. We won't be rushing back!
Service and staff friendliness so disappointing!!

An Sugan was a lovely bed and breakfast to stay in, the room was lovely, and the b&b was very central, it was very reasonably priced and the breakfast the next morning was lovely. A lively place to stay in Clonakilty.

We went to An Sugan for a drink this afternoon. My girlfriend was feeling a bit peckish and decided to order a portion of fries. We had to ask to be served and the female waitress was not one bit friendly. After eventually ordering from the barman, who was polite in fairness, and paying the three euro, the sauce having been delivered to our table, we were then informed by an obnoxious female staff member, who appeared to be the manager, that they were unable up serve us a portion of fries as they only do so with a full meal. This did not make sense to us and left us completely in disbelief. Hopefully other visitors to Ireland will not judge Ireland on the lack of a cead mile failte in An Sugan. Just to reiterate the barman was sound, but the female manager was very rude.

We stayed only one night at An Sùgàn, but the place is worth a longer stay if you are spending few days in that area. The rooms are nicely furnished, very large and clean. Nothing fancy, but absolutely comfortable and quite, especially the rooms on the rear. To break the ice with owner, Brenda, you will need a few moments. Then you will discover a passionate person running with love her "true" B&B - which is not a modern house built to be a B&B ( so common nowadays in Ireland) but it's a real downtown family house converted later to the hosting purpose. Talk with her about the organic products she selects for the excellent brakfast she makes, and you'll make a friend. The place is worth the extra 5 Euros pps that you will pay in a "standard" B&B nearby. The seafood in the attached pub is honestly cooked and priced, we enjoyed the atmosphere and the service. Would definitely recommend this B&B and pub.

We couldn't recommend this place highly enough. The service was fantastic. The staff were lovely. The room was huge. The breakfasts were sourced from local ingredients and was plentiful. If you are looking for a base to see local attractions, you coud do a ot worse than staying at An Sugan in Clonakilty.

Thank you for your comments. We are glad you enjoyed your stay.
If you'd mentioned that you would have liked a late check out, that could
have been arranged. We are quite flexible on that matter.
