“Local food at it's best”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 13, 2013

Sage takes the best of East Cork's food and serves up some fantastic food. Full of flavour and well presented.

“little surprise on the plate, poor staff attitude”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed May 7, 2013

Nice ambiance & decor. Good choice on the menu. One of our mains came with a slug trailing across the plate. We waited patiently for a member of staff, who's attitude to our discovery was rather one of irritation and disgust. He offered no aploogy & reluctantly removed the offending item. The main was replaced, however the damage was done we all lost our appetite rather quickly. We remained for a short time chating & enjoying the wine we had requested to accompany our meal to have the same waiter approach us with the bill, that we had not yet requested. Overall a very disappointing experience. one which i do not wish to repeat any time soon.

“Outstanding”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 28, 2013

Nicely decorated, discrete place, well situated in the centre of Midleton. Well balanced menu, for the adventurous customer as for the conservative client. Vegetarian options available.
All four at our table agreed on the outstanding quality of the tiniest details on our plates. Both the product as the preparation of a surprisingly high level. Eye for detail, and very large portions for this level of preparation.
Small but interesting wine card.
This is one of the rare restaurants that could aim for a star, if it would make a number of concessions. But I'm not sure I would like them to make these concessions...

“Delicious food!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 1, 2013

We had the 'early bird' three course meal for 25€ (on sunday night at around half 7) it was delicious!! The starter was yummi, the main dish even better and the dessert (rasperry-cheesecake) topped everything!! The service was really friendly and we didn't have to wait long for our meal. HIdden gem in the town of midleton!

“They forgot our order!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed March 25, 2013

Popped in for lunch on Saturday, gave our order and waited about 20 minutes before I decided to ask how long more our toasted sandwiches were going to take. It turned out our order had not been prepared at all even thought it was coming up on the end of their lunch service and they weren't busy. Not much of an apology was offered and no explanation was given aside from there was a "mix up". We were then told they wouldn't take much longer, but after being in the restaurant for half an hour at this stage we were very annoyed and left. Very disappointed in this service and think its unacceptable that the wait staff didn't notice we were sitting there with no food. Would be very reluctant to visit again on the back of this.
