i didnt stay at the hotel but nearby. I frequented the hotel on several occasions to share a meal and a drink with guests of the hotel. The view was fantastic the food was excellent and the staff were friendly and attentive without being obtrusive. There was always some form of musical entertainment. All in all i would heartily recommend this hotel.

Could be a great Hotel but isn't! We didn't get the twin we asked for and the double bed was a small one. Lots of stairs and no lift. We had a room next to scaffolding on the extension they are building. There was no water between 9.00 pm and 8.30 am due to a local drought but there was no bottled water put in the rooms. Fantastic location but noisy over the bar and terrace.
Breakfast was very good and the staff helpful. We spoke to some Canadians who were annoyed that they had booked on the strength of an advertised airport shuttle bus only to find there wasn't one.

The Waterside Hotel in Donabate just out of Dublin is a great find. One of the locals told us it had just been totally refurbished and that before then, you wouldn't have entered the place for a drink.
It won't be long before this place is one of the most popular hotels outside Dublin.
The reception, receptionists, decor, bar, staff and dining was all way above average. Our room was on the first floor and as soon as you opened the door you were greeted with the most glorious view of the ocean and wee island floating off shore. Our triple room was a touch small for the 3 of us and all our luggage, but with so much beautiful scenery right outside the front door, who needs to sit in their room.
Off the huge bar was a massive terrace where you could sit and watch the ocean and boats all day long. The beach is a huge long strip of sand. Lots of golf clubs in the area too.
If you drive into Donabate (3 mins) you can catch the train into Dublin and be there in 20 minutes.
The hotel is expanding as well. Take it from me, this place is going to be the place to be!
