“Excellent B&B”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 9, 2013

Had a lovely one night stay in this lovely house. Welcoming hosts. Delicious breakfast. Spotlessly clean bedrooms. I would definitely recommend this B and B in Boyle. Very close to Carrick on Shannon town.

We visited 22/03/13 and found fantastic hospitality in a wonderfull setting.
The welcome and accomodation far exceeded our expectations and enhanced what was a lovely family gathering. We will definitely be using Forest Park House again ! the breakfast and furnishing are superb and the house is situated by the natural beauty of Loch Key.
Thanks Helen.

We returned yesterday evening from a three night stay at Forest Park House, always our first choice when visiting my mother who lives in Boyle. As always we were warmly greeted by Helen on arrival and we were very appreciative of the delicious pot of tea and slices of cake we were given. The rooms are lovely : warm, comfortable, nicely decorated, spotlessly clean and there are the extras not always provided in B&Bs such as a tray for making tea and coffee, a hairdryer and shower gel and shower cap in the bathroom. Helen's breakfasts are excellent with plenty of choice and her home-made bread is not to be missed. Forest Park House is very well situated as it is just by the entrance to Lough Key and a short drive from Carrick-on-Shannon. It is on the main road to Sligo and Dublin. I would strongly recommend it to anyone wanting to stay in the area.

Room Tip: All rooms are lovely but we always prefer one overlooking the garden.

We stayed for two nights at the beginning of November. The B&B is located just outside the gates of Lough Key Forest Park and is well situated about five miles from the well established town of Carrick-on-Shannon. The rooms are beautiful, well equipped and comfortable. The guest sitting room is lovely and a real home from home. The hospitality was fantastic, Helen was away but her two sister were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was a veritable feast! With plenty of choice and freshly brewed coffee. I would certainly stay there again if in the area and I would definatley recomend it to antybody wanting a luxury B & B break in that beautiful part of Ireland

Arriving later than expected, our host welcomed us warmly and insisted on helping us with our luggage which was very appreciated. Our room was very spacious, which was important because of the amount of cases and bags we had with us, nicely decorated with plenty of storage as well as an ensuite. The friendly attitude of our host plus the plate of delicious home cooked scones that he gave us to have with our coffee, made the three of us feel relaxed and very much at home. The room was very quiet, the beds comfortable and the free wifi connection excellent. Our hostess Helen presented a beautifully cooked breakfast with plenty of variety and her clooty dumpling is a credit to her. Her knowledge of the local area was invaluable as one of us was involved in family research and we appreciated the time she took to help. This B&B was definitely the best place we stayed in Ireland not only because of the quality of the accommodation, which we thought was very good value for what we paid and the high quality of the food but also due to the thoughtfulness and friendliness of our hosts and we were sorry that we couldn't stay longer.

We had a wonderful time both in the area (Lough Key and Boyle) and at this B&B. We stayed for one night only, but really made the best of our limited time there, thanks to the excellent advice and suggestions from Helen, the hostess. As some other reviewers wrote, it was such a homely environment, and the warm welcome and smiley services will definitely make you feel at home. Travelling from East Asia, we so fortunately could experience the real 'céad míle fáilte' at her B&B.

After touring most of Ireland, this B&B was the last one where we stayed. A party of 4, we shared 2 rooms for 2 nights. The owner was very nice, she let us choose our rooms. They were spatious, with lots of light. Beds were the most comfortable we ever had in a B&B, and the perfect scenery made for a relaxing moment. Breakfast is excellent (Helen can cook a mean soda bread, and heavenly pancakes), and we got awesome tips about local bars, restaurants and band.
