My husband and I stayed in this hotel for two nights. 12th & 13th March. From start to finish everything about the hotel met with our satisfaction. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Our bedroom was comfortable and clean, lots of hot water and lovely fresh soft towels. It was a cold weekend and we appreciated a nice warm room. Dinner on Saturday evening was excellent as was breakfast each morning. After dinner we were entertained in the lounge by singer/musician as we relaxed beside a lovely fire. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at "The Holyrood" Excellent value for money and I would highly recommend it

I do a fair bit of travelling with my job and have stayed in some hotels in my time, some good some bad. The Holyrood ranks as one of the WORST hotels i have ever had the misfortune of staying in. On arrival you will be greeted by a horrific odour in the lobby, a mixture of nursing home and cabbage. The decor is a throwback to the old days of 1970's bed and breakfast. The staff are helpful however. Once allocated my room I opened the door to find it had not been cleaned since the last occupants vacated, i returned to reception and was allocated another room. This room smelt like Dot cotton had been chain smoking in there since last april, the room was thick with the stench of stale tobacco, in the curtains, carpet and "clean" bed linen. the decor and finish was APPAULING, loose bath handles, towel holders etc. The remote for the TV was missing, when this was reported nothing was done. I would particularly avoid this hotel during weekends, as there are pi55 heads galore roaming the corridors at all hours. My door was knocked several times and when i opened it i was greeted each time by a drunk lout looking for his friends. I work nights, on returning at 3:50 am, i was told there would be a night porter on duty, he was nowhere to be seen, however the door was open and i was greeted by a drunken lout in the lobby, shirt torn and bloody nose mumbling rubbish at me stinking of booze. NOT the person you want to be greeted by. Once i made it upto my room through the corridors piled high with empty cans and pizza boxes smelling of fast food back to my room that smelt like a cigarette factory i tried to go to sleep, however this is almost impossible, due to the fact to get your door to lock it has to be slammed shut first, so just as your drifting off all you can hear is SLAM as another drunkard gets into his room further down the corridor...... After a few hours of "sleep" i woke up with a splitting headache due to inhaling stale tobacco all night, needless to say i vacated the hotel Straight away and i will NEVER return, i would rather sleep in the car....AVOID THIS HOTEL there are plenty others in Bundoran around this price range where you will get a much better stay

we have just returned from a 2 night break at the Holyrood Hotel in Bundoran. We had a very nice stay. The Receptionist when we arrived was very friendly and helpful and all the staff we saw were also friendly.
Our room was comfortable but housekeeping needs to be improved, we had long life milk in the room that was 3 months out of date and there was a lot of dust in the room.
The view from our room was lovely, looking out to the ocean.
We stayed on a Tuesday and Wednesday and it was lovely and quiet.
Our breakfasts were very good and there was lots of parking at the back of the hotel.

Beutiful food
Excellent staff
Fantastic value
Very good rooms

Got a great deal (59 euro pp for 2nites b&b and an evening meal) and it was fantastic deal the 1 thing i would reccommend 2 the hotel is that they offer a room upgrade as part of the deal (for increased price obviously)
