“Generic but pleasant Hotel with very friendly staff”

Once you are inside the Broadhaven Bay you could be in any 3-Star Hotel anywhere in Ireland. The decor, design, obligatory leisure centre and swiming pool are efficient, clean and well-deisgned but utterly lacking in character, especially the aircraft hangar like hotel bar.
If it wasn't for the friendly and helpful staff and the lovely surroundings the premises would be a lacklustre place to stay. The receptionist was fantastic and so cheery, so were the staff in the leisure centre and the lady who took our breakfast order. I saw one family who checked in after the kitchens shut get first class treatment from the duty manager to get them food suitable for a child who was a fussy eater.
Having been to Belmullet on many occasions over ten years the hotel is, however, by far the best place to stay in the town, but the food is basic. There's better available in the town (about a ten minute walk away), especially An Chéibh, a pub which serves great seafood and the Bay Bistro, which serves a massive full Irish breakfast..
The gym was modern and seemed to get little use, the swimming pool got a lot of use by locals, esp children, but was well managed.
Can't really comment on the rooms except to say that I booked an executive room as I needed space to work in and we ended up with the bridal suite. On going to the reception to query the palatial accommodation - Me: 'I think you have put us in the wrong room?!'; Receptionist: look of horror turns to broad smile as she explains - the Executive Rooms and the Bridal Suites are one and the same! The room was huge, bigger than a small apartment and had a very nice jacuzzi bath, but with a mini-bar that contained little more than a one-third full decanter of whiskey it conjured up nightmarish thoughts of the wedding parties who had gone before us.
Would definitely stay at this hotel again, though in a normal room! The only really awful part of our stay was the terrible 'band' who were playing in the bar. We were all on for another pint and they drove us away with a murderous rendition of Johnny Cash's 'Ring of Fire'.

“Friendly staff are a plus”

Broadhaven Bay Hotel

This a modern pleasant 3 star property. The location is excellent for those wishing to visit the lovely remote Mullet penninsula in County Mayo. Tha breakfast was above average and the staff (mostly local people) were very friendly and helpful. The rooms are typical of this type of hotel with reasonable facilities.

The Broadhaven Bay hotel is absolutely top class have stayed there on 2 occasions now and cannot find a fault with the place. Rooms very comfortable and spacious, food is excellent and they do a breakfast that sets you up for the day!
Staff are very helpful and friendly. Recommend this hotel highly and will definately be back again - hopefully soon!

The Broadhaven Bay Hotel is absolutely lovely. I have visited many times before when travelling in Belmullet and had lunch but this was my first stay. We will be going back. It is very smart, clean and luxurious and I could find nothing negative to say about it. The staff were very helpful, friendly and professional. The rooms were very nicely furnished with quality furnishings and lovely comfy beds. The bathroom was great, smart and clean. The breakfasts were great and very filling and the staff again were both professional and relaxed, a great combination. The fitness suite is a great addition, good gym, lovely large pool with childrens pool, steam room, sauna and jacuzzi. No noise problems despite the hotel being full; great for singles, groups, couples, families- young or old. The view was fantastic too but then so are the views all around Belmullet!

you must stay at the broadhaven bay hotel if travelling to the west of ireland. next to belmullet town. this is real ireland. the views are fantastic, the people are friendly, you could and will infact fall in love with eire when you visit. i will be returning in the new year for a relaxing break. the place is ideal for quiet time and a totlal relax. the hotel facilities are great, food is wonderful, and the staff are number 1. its like a picture postcard if you travel into binghams town or infact any of the towns down the west coast. its about a 2 and a half hour drive from galway airport and an hour away from castlebar. cant wait to return.
