“Simply the best!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 5, 2012

This is a lovely hotel, the rooms are beautiful, fresh and luxurious, having stayed in hotels all around the world I have yet to find one more comfortable than this. Great value too with a play and stay package including dinner and golf at the incredible Carne links.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 4, 2012

Myself and my partner stayed here for 3 nights this past weekend and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. From the exterior the hotel is quite small at first glance but is quite misleading. From the initial call to make the booking, I found the staff (In this case Karen) to be professional, warm and engaging. We took the 3 B&B and 2 evening meal package and found the price to be very competitive. As it was a special occasion, Karen mentioned that she would offer a complimentary upgrade to a Talbot Suite, upon check in I was greeted by 3 ladies including Karen and as there was no mention of 'said upgrade' I assume we were given a deluxe room as on their website it states that most suites have a Jacuzzi bath, fireplace and four poster bed, ours had the latter but no Jacuzzi bath or fireplace. Nonetheless, the room was tastefully decorated and we were happy enough with it. (Room 15) The room was narrow but quite sizeable, with an amazing power shower, which we loved, the bath was fine, but could have been deeper and was a little uncomfortable. We have a view of the courtyard below and the back garden of someone's property. The mini bar was stocked with some alcohol and soft drinks and the room service menu was varied and very well priced. I would recommend the Club Sandwich, Chicken Wings and the Chicken and Bacon Wrap. We unpacked and ventured downstairs to the bar for drinks and were met by a very friendly bar man called Pat, he was warm, friendly and very professional, as was Amy. The staff in this hotel really makes such an effort to make you feel special and it worked! One downside for me was the lack of a cocktail menu, although Pat was very eager to make us anything that we wanted! A menu would have been useful though. We dined in the restaurant on the Friday evening and this is where things got even better! The food, decor, service and menu were exquisite! Monika our waitress was outstanding; she is such an asset to this hotel that words cannot explain! She deserves an award for her customer service, which is by far the best I have encountered in ALL our travels. A nice touch is being able to eat from the normal dinner menu as part of the package (only paying the supplement for the more expensive items which is great) The scallops were some of the best I have ever eaten and the house red wine was delicious (Merlot) the steak and sea bass were also amazing! 10 out of 10 for the restaurant. The communal areas are luxuriously decorated and there are daily papers for you to read, a nice touch for a 4* hotel. The lady at breakfast was a consummate professional and the food was amazing, with a fabulous choice (the pancakes were amazing as was the Irish Fry) my only gripe with breakfast was the various and conflicting times we were given the website differs to what you are told and the board outside differs then again. We were told it starts at 8.30am or 9.00am? & the board says it is served to 12pm and not 11am as we were told. We had another amazing dinner again on the 2nd night and Monika even drew us a map of where to visit the next day - outstanding. We had Sunday lunch the next day, which was amazing and Pat was a jovial as ever, we were made to feel like we were old friends - a really nice touch. All in the entire hotel in great, the staff amazing, and the food to die for. I normally only stay in 5* hotels but this one opened my eyes to great service and food. I like a mid afternoon bath whilst on holiday and was disappointed on 2 occasions with the water temperature as it was lukewarm at best, not a major gripe but an issue all the same. Be careful when opening the wardrobe in room 15 as it is very close to the hinge for the main door and could cause damage to the door if you are not careful, this was quite irritating, but again, not a major issue. We did have some noise issues on 2 nights, due to rowdy guests nest door and the fact that the walls are quite thin. The hotel in an extremely remote area, with very little to do but read your book or watch TV (4 Channels) there are a few bars and 2 cafes in the town and a restaurant and bowling alley not too far away but this is a glorified small arcade. Ballina/Castlebar is a good hours drive away, as is Westport. I would return to this lovely hotel, but perhaps for 1 or 2 nights, due to the location. This hotel is a gem and it is most certainly the food quality, decor and mostly the staff that makes this place so special.

Room Tip: If booking a suite, ask for one with a Jacuzzi bath and a fireplace or 4 poster bed, (not all rooms...

Stayed here on a business trip in February, when we seen outside of the hotel I got a bit of a shock but from the minute we stepped inside it was a delight. The service is second to none, we were shown to our rooms which were as good if not better than pictures on website. We had to leave early in the morning for a meeting and told reception we would be too early for breakfast, they insisted on bringing someone in at 6.30am to make something for us and offered the same for the 2nd morning of our stay. We ate in the bar both nights and food and atmosphere was excellent. I will definitely be returning again hopefully on a weekend break to enjoy it fully!

Visited for the second time with some family and it is everything described in my first visit and all the reviews to date.
A must. Absolute fab experience. Unbelievable staff and Hotel in a beautiful location.I can not say enough about all the staff, they make you feel so welcome and are a definite plus to this beautiful hotel.
Little hiccup with dinner on the Friday night but it was sorted out most generously and graciously.
Sun was shining and Belmullet area was looking fab. Did the Erris Head Loop walk and it was breathtaking. So much to do. As good as you can get anywhere at such affordable prices.Highly recommend it for relaxing weekend and touring this beautiful area.
Will be back again.

Room Tip: Every Room is beautiful but if you want to splash out.................the suites are something else.

I stayed here with my husband whilst he worked locally. An amazing hidden gem! Rooms luxurious and included an Ipod dock and a nesspresso machine so already a hit. Staff incredibly friendly and very accomodating. Bar food and breakfasts excellent - bacon and pancakes my favourite. We ate in the hotel restaurant one night with excellent service and food, and amazing decor (as expected by now!).
High, very large and amazingly comfortable 4 poster bed!
No hotel car park but never an issue as always plenty of parking on safe street right outside.
This hotel also managed to provide beautiful sunshine for the whole time I was in Ireland which was a first!

Room Tip: We stayed in a suite - room 19. No views, but furnishings more than made up for this.

I was driving by this hotel and looked at the lunch board outside the door, menu looked good.
We went back in the afternoon and had lunch. Menu excellent, fish chicken, steaks and caters for coeliac people as well. food was very good and prices just right. €72 for 5 adults incl 2 alcoholic drinks. We will come back

Fabulous boutique style hotel located in Bellmullet. Five star accommodation. Decor is absolutely beautiful. Staff are warm, friendly and welcoming throughout the hotel. We were accompanied to our room and given all the information we needed to have a comfortable and enjoyable stay. Room and bathroom were well laid out and included extra touches such as nespresso machine, iPod dock and robes and slippers. Had food in the bar on both nights and was to a high standard. We used the hotel as a base to tour Achill island and would recommend the drive all the way out to Keem Strand on a sunny day. Looking forward to a return visit!
