Words can't explain how amazing Emlagh Lodge - and Maggie are! I spent 4 glorious evenings there - 1 in the Gracie room and three in Bayview and all were outstanding. CLEAN, CLEAN, CLEAN! And I'm the queen of anal retentiveness (especially when it comes to bathrooms and Maggie exceeded my expectations). The softest, whitest Irish linens. Views from your room to die for. The tastiest breakfasts with a restuarant menu of selections to pick from (you have to try her yogurt and fruit -- my goodness!) And then Maggie herself - so sweet, warm, funny energetic - beautiful both on the inside and outside.

Just an example of her amazing sweetness: On my last day I decided to do the Connor Pass drive. Though I'd gotten 4 days of driving on the Dingle Penninsula's narrow roads, I still was a bit green. I had already vacated my room and said my farewells to Maggie when I set off on the drive, intending to hit Tralee and then down to Blarney before heading to Cork Airport. Well, one of the main reasons I traveled to Dingle was to walk on Inch Beach as Sarah Miles did in the beginning of Ryan's Daughter (the movie which drew me to the area and where I vowed to spend my 40th birthday week - which I did (turned 40 on 5/15/07). I was determined to walk on that beach for my birthday and I thank the Lord I was able to do just that. Anyway, as I finished the Connor Pass drive and was on my way to Tralee I remembered that I wanted to see Inch beach one more time, which meant I would need to turn around and go the other way toward Killarney. So, that's what I did. Well, on the way back, I moved over to allow a car to pass and proceeded to take out the two passenger tires that got punctured by some jagged rocks alongside the mountain! Thank God I was able to make it back to Dingle town and the Emlagh Lodge, where Maggie ran out and helped me to get a local mechanic to come by, take off the bad tires and put on new tires. It took all of 1 hour and during my wait, Maggie made me a spot of tea and laid out some delicious chocolates. Now that's going above and beyond!!

Emlagh Lodge is now the benchmark for BnBs in my book. If you surpass Maggie, you've done something! Thanks so much Maggie!!! No better place could I have turned the big 4-0!

Emlagh Lodge is a grand B&B in Dingle right on the harbor with glorious water views. Our room was comfortable, clean and modern. Breakfast was ample and delicious (the fruit plate was a work of art). It's a short, scenic walk to town along the water. Maggie was warm and friendly and a great source of information about restaurants and sightseeing. This B&B is a bargain. I can't imagine there's a better place to stay in Dingle.

We stayed at Emlagh Lodge over the Easter holidays and thoroughly enjoyed the time. The breakfast is a treat - try the mascarpone yoghurt with fruits!! Delicious!

The rooms were lovely decorated with a nice sea view. Our bathroom was huge and everything was spotless.

Maggie gives gladly advice on where to go and what to see - Thank you so much for a superb Easter weekend.

The Emlagh Lodge is out of a dream. We have nothing bad to say about the Emlagh at all. We enjoyed our very short time there (just two nights) and wish we could have remained in Ireland at the Emlagh Lodge for the rest of our month-long trip through Europe. Not only is the lodge in an excellent and gorgeous location, the service Maggie provides is top-notch.

Breakfast is incredible. There's nothing else to be said. (Plus, the breakfast room has a view of the bay!)

The rooms are wonderful and beyond comfortable. Our bed was firm but soft, our skylight had a beautiful view of the bay, the bathroom was enormous, and Maggie leaves a hot water maker with teas, coffee and all the fixings. The only trouble we had was the television, which didn't work, but we didn't actually ever want to use it (there's so much to do on the Dingle Peninsula, you won't have time!) so this wasn't a problem.

The Emlagh also has a view of the part of the bay where Fungi the dolphin typically lives. We never saw him, much to our dismay, but Maggie said most residents do and that must be such a treat! (She also has a lovely dog named Muff, whom we miss dearly.)

Maggie provides a maps of the Dingle Peninsula and the Slea Head Drive, as well as an extensive list of places to eat and see whilst in Dingle. Very helpful and appreciated!

It is indeed a very short walk to the city of Dingle, which is helpful especially if you're going to spend some time in the evenings at a pub; however, we typically drove into town and we found loads of free parking. It might be different in late spring and into the summer months, though.

Maggie is incredible. She's so nice and accommodating, and obviously works hard and brilliantly at maintaining the Emlagh Lodge. We were bowled over by the affordability of the lodge, as we were on a relatively low students' budget, and the amazing amount of comfort and friendliness we received when we arrived. Maggie's B&B is forefront in our minds when we think of Ireland, because it made our time in Ireland that much better. We itch to return.
