“Seafood :)”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 28, 2013

They have a great seafood meal for two which was more than enough to eat for a very decent price. The staff worked very hard and everything was cooked right. Only thing keeping it from a 5 would be there is nothing really special about the menu.

“what a fabulous lunch we had”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 25, 2013

We had lunch in the Boat Yard Restaurant because of their varied menu outside and the look of the lovely conservatory at the front of the restaurant. Its really lovely inside and there is a great buzz about the place. The menu is so varied and there are plenty of specials too. There were four of us for lunch we had no starter or dessert, just main course and a round of drinks. Everything was presented so well and looked delicious as indeed it was. My monkfish scampi style was was so tasty. Eddie had the calmari and we swapped a taster each, it was delicous too. Jan went for a crab selection which included a crab bisque and guinness bread as well a crab cake, crab quiche and crabs claws as well as a lovely salad. Dennis went for good old fish and chips but it was by know means ordinary with several medium sized pieces of beer battered cod in a decorative frying basket. Sadly no room for desserts or coffee. Service was excellant and friendly. The bill came to €82 without a service charge. Well worth it. We will visit again soon.

“Cherry on top of a great day!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 22, 2013

A few friends and I stopped here for lunch on a day trip to Dingle, it's very near the aquarium and very friendly looking, with a big outdoor area and conservatory. As soon as we walked in we were seated by a really friendly woman, I think the manager, even though they were very busy we weren't made wait. There was a really relaxed atmosphere about the place and the staff were all really friendly too. Two of us shared the seafood platter - I would recommend to everybody! The crab claws in garlic butter were especially good, and everything tasted really fresh. One of our party ordered the lobster salad special that was on that day, which was delicious, served in the bone and with homemade Guinness bread which had so much flavour we couldn't get enough!
The woman dealing with us made us feel really taken care of, even though the place was packed. She helped us pick out our wine and offered us tastes of different wines, and when I knocked the portion of chips that came with the seafood platter onto my lap she sent us out a new portion without hesitating, I can't say enough about how well we were treated!
Aside from the amazing food and delightful service, the location is perfect, with a beautiful view of the harbour, right between the town and the aquarium. If you're going to Dingle, The Boatyard is a must!

“Seafood platter was the business!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 20, 2013

We arrived for a late lunch and our timing was perfect as a large group of satisfied looking French people were leaving. A good start all round. Two large glasses of nicely chilled Pinot Grigio and the seafood platter for two. We had battered cod, crab claws in butter, mussels and clams in white wine, and on request as a substitute for calamari, monkfish goujons spicy and breaded. Guinness brown bread, mushy peas, chunky chips and for sauces, spicy Marie rose, a sweet Chilli, tartare. All fresh and beautifully presented. The whole meal was sublime although not for those on a diet! . We were served by 3 different people all friendly, efficient and witty. The location is central on the waterfront and the glassed area nice and Bright and comfy with cushions. Braver tourists sat outside in the brisk but sunny breeze.
We have dined in the same old place in Dingle on previous visits but this time, decided to be adventurous. This was a real find and we will be back.

“If in Dingle you have got to stop and come and eat here.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 20, 2013

Another great meal was had in the boatyard Restaurant. We tasted the most amazing prawns and local seafood that we have ever had. The dishes were beautifully prepared. It was one of those special eating experiences that you don't easily forget and we are still grateful for the recommendation from the local people of Dingle and happily recommend the place to anyone looking for a really high quality local eating experience. The Boatyard has got the freshest fish seafood prepared by a creative chef with subtle sauces and excellent side dishes. Absolutley top class food and the wait service very warm and welcoming and attentive. Defintely would go back. Good value for money. Highly recommended.
