My fiancé and myself stayed here for two nights this summer.
The place as such has a quite nice location a 5 - 10 min. walk from the city center, and with some of the rooms facing the bay, only with the guesthouse parking lot and street inbetween.
We had booked a Junior Suite partly because of the reveiws here, and the fact that some of the more popular places were fully booked. The other thing that we now know is that there are some other lovely B&Bs in Dingle, also with seaviews, that are not found in here... So PLEASE first contact the touristoffice in Dingle and they problably can tell you about them.
Then about the rating we have given and why.
We payed about 380 Euros for a Juniour Suite for two nights with a bayview. After having stayed there I must admit I did not quite find it prizeworthy unfortunately. The room was nice with a bathtub with jacuzzi features in the bathroom and was situated on the Ground Floor facing the bay, but, and this is the largest but: the parking lot in front of the windows reduced the bayview when cars were parked there. Which they were most of the time. The other thing then was the people waking by, so we did not have very much privacy unfortunately and was desturbed both by the cars themselves in front of our room and by the lack of privacy. Also the small fact that the road was in front did not help with getting the true, magnetic and peaceful seaview we had hoped for.
The other thing I feel like mentioning was that you have to remember that this is a Guesthouse, not a hotel and not like other B&Bs se came across in Ireland were they can provide you with a least a cold Coke / beer and a small snack. They had no such thing. However the very serviceminded hostess of the house told us to feel like home, and bring with us snacks / beverages from outside... It was then a little strange to think about the small and lovely B&B we had stayed the night before at Inishmore on the Aran Islands were we payed 40 Euros each, had THEEE most fabolous seaview and was offered coffee and tea for free, could order whatever we neded to drink from beer, soft-drinks and wine, and was served a magnificent dinner with herbs from their own garden and truelly found peace... By all means it was not as fancy as this guesthouse - but the 80 Euors a night B&B melted our hearts. While this 188 Euors a night luxurious Guesthouse unfortunately lacked a few things, some of which are mentioned, to impress us, or be able to really recommend it...
Al though the hostess herself was a really lovely person, and the breakfast was quite nice by Irish standards (however lacking some things by Continetal standard), we were not so impressed by the servicelevel of the other staff at the breakfast in particular. One of the girls obviously seemed to (want to) be in charge of the breakfast-room and staff and she also seemed to want to be in charge of the guests as well... We deared to sit out in the atrium where there were empty tables, and a seaview, but were asked to move to a set-up table inside by the door... And it was totally out of the question for any couple of two to sit at a table of four... There is ofcourse a logic in that, BUT the way she behaved was not so very serviceminded... And it did not help that we had to wait for the warm breakfast for almost an hour both days... How about resetting the empty tables in the atrium, since the guests all seemed to prefer to sit with a seaview?!?
