We checked into Heaton's Guesthouse in Dingle, and that is where I have decided to live for all of my days...completely spoiled and pampered. Heaton's is fantastic...gourmet breakfast, outstanding friendly service, and comfortable rooms kept immaculately clean and supremely comfortable.
Our deluxe room was lovely with a view of the water across the street, and the breakfast is grand and decadent! Our daughters had a nice standard twin room.
Our hostess, Nuala, greeted us upon our arrival and she was most welcoming. Our host, Cameron, entertained us while serving breakfast, and when we had a late breakfast time he had time to linger for a chat. We all enjoyed our breakfast chats with Cameron. Ah, breakfast is heaven at Heaton's.
The pancakes at Heaton's are outrageously good. They are unique and similar in texture to a homemade muffin with a bit of crunchy on top. Pancakes served with fruit and cream if desired. I ordered fresh fish for breakfast one morning, yum. The cold breakfast bar had nice fruit, fresh breads, etc. All of these wondrous choices and more are included in your room rate! We enjoyed it with excellent hot tea. (They also have coffee.) Oh, you can have porridge with drambuie and cream as a starter!
Breakfast served until 10:00 am...woo-hoo! Late breakfast is great if you've been pubbing in lively Dingle town the night before.
My husband and I had deluxe room #8, blue and white room, comfortable King bed, very clean, pleasant, cheerful. Power shower with tub, nice wide-screen TV, 2 soft chairs, vanity with chair. Walk into lively Dingle town in about 10 minutes...easy flat walk with sidewalks.
Heaton's is very special, a slice of heaven. I'm raving, I know. This isn't the Ritz, you understand, but it is more luxurious than I ever imagined a family-run guesthouse could ever be. The deluxe room was 75 euro per person in July (high season) and worth every cent. This price includes the breakfast, which was truly one of the highlights of my trip I must add!
At Heaton's we enjoyed the best combination of 2 worlds...the homey personal touch a family-run b&b can offer, and the luxurious comforts that can usually only be found in pricey hotels.
The standard room that my daughters stayed in didn't have quite the same luxuries as the deluxe room, but it was a very nice comfortable room and included the same memorable breakfast choices.
A deluxe room at Heaton's is a worthy splurge for b&b enthusiasts. Really tops.
