We had previously visited this hotel more than a decade ago, and were looking forward to our return. We were not disappointed; our room, which we think must have been upgraded, was brilliant, with wonderful views of the bay. It was large, comfortable, and very clean.
The bathroom was huge, lovely marble tops, double shower, spotless bath.
If I had a gripe, it was that the duvet was too thick to use (in August), but this was only a minor point. We could hear people talking in the room next door, but luckily they went to bed at a reasonable time, and we weren't disturbed.
The food was very good. Plenty of choice at breakfast (including kippers, fried eggs or waffles with maple syrup, all to order), and the quality of the evening meals was excellent.Dinner is not cheap, but it is good, and the restaurant was very busy on each of the nights we were there. Wine costs upwards of 20 euros a bottle, but this seemed about average for restaurants in the area. Recommend the smoked haddock tartlet starter as something different and very good.
We ate out in Dingle town one evening, plenty of choice, to suit all pockets, including lots of places serving (very) fresh fish. It is only a five-minute stroll into the town from the hotel, so the location could hardly be bettered.
The pool was excellent, and not crowded, if you choose your time wisely. Very good sauna as well. Take a swimming cap, as they are compulsory for the pool.
We were given a free cream tea one day, which was scrumptious.
The staff were pleasant, and some were incredibly friendly and helpful.
