“When was the last time you were asked to vacate a table minutes after your last bite?”
We tried for 3 days to get a reservation at this restaurant after it was recommended. Tonight we arrived promptly at 6:30, the "only available" reservation time we could get. We were the very first to arrive, although within 20 minutes or so many, but not all, of the tables filled up. We ordered starters (crab and lobster bisque for me, seafood risotto for my husband, both okay but not great) followed by monk fish (also good, not great, although beautifully plated) and the beef daub (very good). For dessert I had the sampler, which was lovely, and my husband had the trio of ice cream, also quite good, but perhaps a but over priced at €8.50 each. Within minutes of finishing our bill was brought to the table. We paid in cash and were chatting when one of the servers, seemingly quite embarrassed, informed us we would have to leave as they needed the table. There were still 2 empty tables, and every walk-in has been able to be seated all night. We did leave politely but bewildered. All in all, while the food was good, we had much better meals in Dingle. For €100, you can have a truly fantastic dinner with exceptional service just up the street at Doyle's.
