“Great place to stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 15, 2013

My husband and I and our 2 adult children stayed at Brook Lane Hotel for three nights in June and agree with others that the hotel was beautiful, rooms spacious, well-appointed and incredibly comfortable. Breakfast was delicious (especially French Toast), fresh and varied. We enjoyed our two dinners, accompanied by lovely Irish music by a talented trio. The location - within walking distance to town - was perfect. The staff, including Peter and Emily, were friendly, warm and enjoyable to chat with. The owner Una Brennan sent us on a fabulous adventure on our way to Dingle, advising a breathtakingly gorgeous drive through the middle of the Killarney National Park. We highly recommend this beautiful, well located hotel, with a great staff.

The management and staff at Brook Lane Hotel went out of their way to take care of us during our stay.
Whether it was serving us latte first thing in the morning, booking our horseback riding excursion or cleaning our laundry they did it all and did so gladly.

The room, clean as a whistle. The location, spot on (although not properly located on GPS). The breakfast, delicious. The attached restaurant, a perfect place for a beer and entertainment. The short walk to the center of town, a pleasure. The service, excellent.
All of that pails by comparison to the caring staff and their willingness to go the "extra mile" or in this case many miles.
After reluctantly leaving Kenmare for our next stop in Cork, we arrived at our hotel tired but ready to enjoy the day, only to realize that we had left our passports and money in the safe in our room at the Brook Lane. Dreading the 3 hour round trip to retreive these essentials, I called to tell them of my error and my scheduled drive back. I was told to relax, they had a friend coming to Cork later in the day who would be happy to deliver the passport and money to our new hotel. Go enjoy yourself and don't worry.
A few hours later, a lovely youn lady who told me she was responsible for the third leg of the delivery met me in the lobby and cheerfully made my day.
That is what I call going the extra mile and making the differnce between being a good place to enjoy Kenmare and a great place to find true serrvice with a smile.

It had been a long day's drive when we chanced upon the Brooke Lane Hotel in Kenmare and we have to say that we must have had 'the luck of the Irish'! We were given an extremely well appointed room which was a delight - so much so that we decided to extend our stay from an overnight stop to four nights! Every evening we ate in Casey's Bar and the food was well prepared and extremely good. I must particularly recommend the Lamb - it was delicious, so much so that I could not stop myself from choosing to eat it every evening and I was never disappointed! The staff were a delight and we thoroughly enjoyed thee change of craic! On two of the evenings during our stay we were entertained by musicians and Irish dancing. What a treat!
All in all an excellent visit!

We chose to stay in Kenmare to get an early start on the Ring of Kerry, and the road starts at the driveway to the Brook Lane Hotel. Location could not have been better. The hotel is a short distance from the center of town, and there I a nice pathway to follow to walk into town, about 5 minutes or so. The rooms at the hotel were very comfortable and well equipped. We arrived in the early afternoon, in time for lunch, which we had at the pub connected to the hotel. Lunch was actually very good. After dinner in town, we returned to the pub and listened to a very talented young lady singing an playing the piano. Breakfast the next morning was one of the better breakfast (they bake their own bread which was divine). It was one of the few mornings that my eggs were not overcooked. The Brook Lane Hotel offers an excellent place to stay either for a night or as a base to explore the area.

My wife and I booked a four night stay in a de lux double room (203) in the Brook Lane at the beginning of September 13. We believe that you would find it difficult if not impossible to to find a better choice in the whole county of Kerry. This is is a fantastic hotel with a truly wonderful staff, each and everyone; so welcoming, helpful and attentive. Our room was spacious, tastefully decorated, well equipped and bright with a king size bed.
On our first night we didn't eat in the restaurant deciding to wander down to the town (four minute walk away) for a meal. However, on the following nights we ate in the hotel twice and it sister' restaurant in the the town called No 35' - the food was just great. There was traditional music each evening, which I can take or leave! but it was 'understated' (not too loud) and overall I think it did add to the atmosphere.
Breakfast was a delight, lots of choice to suit every taste and only made when you ordered it, and served by cheerful waitress - a wonderful start to any day.
When we next visit the south west there is only one place we would opt for - the Brook Lane Hotel we couldn't recommend it highly enough.

Room Tip: Doubt if there is a bad room to choose
