“Why hav'nt I stayed here before?”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 11, 2013

Have a lovely customer in kenmare and was having a cup of coffee late in the day, when they suggested this as a good place to stay. Having stayed in numerous hotels in this area over the last 30years, I couldn't believe I'd missed this one - it was delightful. They gave me a very competitive corporate rate, it was very much low season and appeared to be only 2 or 3 rooms occupied, and everything was absolutely perfect. You usually find Monday night is "chefs night off" but here someone was doing some seriously good food. The breakfast next morning was also excellent, with a lovely choice of fruits, breads and homemade preserves.
Definitely looking forward to my next business trip down this way.

A group of 90 of us visited Brook Lane this year for new years eve and what a night we had. We were at the hotel for a dinner dance. The hotel were fantastic and looked after us very well. The food, staff and ambiance was super. Thank you to all the staff James and all. The food was hot and for a busy night it was top quality. The rooms are excellent and very comfy.......built in tv and all your needs. Close to Kenmare which of course is a fab town great shopping and again I would like to recommend O Sullivan Ford boutique what clothes - french, italian, german very stylish.........well done to staff there also. I got some lovely outifts with his 50% sale. Will be back to both Brook Lane Hotel and Kenmare shops...........

Room Tip: No need as quiet area.

Enjoyed the New Year at BL which proved to be great choice. Although some of the common areas looked a little tired, the place was spotlessly clean, warm and being run by particularly friendly and courteous staff. (Thank you Siobhaun and Ester). Although we didn't dine at the 'on site' Caseys bar and restaurant, we had a meal at No.35, their other restaurant in the town and very nice it was, too. Complimentary tea and coffee throughout the day was also appreciated.
Two minor observations: Our front facing room suffered a bit from road noise meaning the window couldn't be opened. Also, we didn't realise the hotel was located a brisk 5-6 minute from the town which didn't cause a problem during our visit but may have caused plans to change were it raining.
Would certainly use again when next visiting Kenmare.

Room Tip: I would anticipate back facing rooms to be quieter.

Just back from 2 nights in this lovely hotel, very well located just outside Kenmare. Found staff to be very friendly and helpful, hotel decor is gorgeous, warm and very stylish, massive comfy bed. Breakfast is varied with good healthy options. Nice ambience in hotel bar. Only one grievance, room was a little cold.
Would definitely stay in Brooklane again if returning to Kenmare.

The Brook Lane is just outside the town of Kenmare. It actually doesn't look at all impressive from the outside, but that is perhaps because it is not an old property and lacks any overtures of architecture or grand design from another era. Inside, it is warm, clean, cost and comfortable. It has been tastefully decorated and is a fully functioning twenty bedroom hotel. Ti be brief, the staff are friendly and helpful. The food served in the bar is of restaurant quality and simply delicious. Breakfast in the main dining room is superb and has a huge buffet range, with hot breakfast cooked to order. I would strongly recommend this hotel for a group of friends, a group like a book club etc looking for a great venue for a trip away; couples and of course a romantic break. Weather and time of year need not be an issue. Wrap up warm and take a bracing walk. Bring a good book, sit by the fire, have an Irish Coffee...you get the picture. By the way, the prices are good. Drink and food are reasonably priced and good value. The bedroom are luxurious and feature lovely bathrooms with underfloor heating!! The hotel doesn't have a leisure centre, but maybe that's just the point. Not everywhere has to have one, and there seems to be plenty of other things going on in Kenmare anyway.

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay at the Brook Lane Hotel as part of a group of seven on a road trip around Ireland. The location is fantastic, the rooms immaculate and beautifuuly decorated and the food exceptional. We stayed two nights and because we enjoyed our first nights meal so much we chose to eat there again the following evening, which as it turned out was great due to there being live local music.
We would definitely stay here again.
