“Its claim of luxury accomodation is justified”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 19, 2010

The accomodation is luxurious, the hotess very friendly and helpful. She provided an excellent breakfast each of the three days we were there. Our rooms were overlooking the Harbour, a lovely view. The restaurant next door serves great food. The four of us arrived there quite tired from our organized travels in Greece and Turkey. This location is a good place to relax if you do not want to do much. The drive from Dublin to Kenmare is about five hours. This part of our tour was a self drive at our own pace and very relaxing. Kenmare is situated on the Ring of Kerry. I had read that the Ring of Kerry is one of the ten most scenic rides in the world and had wanted to visit it. First we went around the Ring of Beara, a shorter four hour ride. It rained all day, and personally enjoyed it, specially watching all the waterfalls driving through the narrow roads of Healy Pass. The next day we drove the longer drive around the Ring of Kerry. Some sections are not great, others are very nice. I have driven some of the other ten "best" rides (PCH on California coast, Banff to Jasper in the Canadian Rockies, Queenstown to Te Anau in New Zealand, Highway to Hana in Maui, Srinagar to Leh Ladakh in India, and I think it fits in well in the group. I recommend this Harbour View Bed and Breakfast. You will like it. We did not meet much bus or car traffic, partly because tourism is down due to the recession. After we checked out, we drove to the Cliffs of Moler and then back to Dublin.

My partner took me away on a break to Kenmare for my Birthday and as I usually book everything I didnt know what to expect. He booked a bed and breakfast which I have never. ( I always book hotels) I always thought hotels were of higher standard, well Harbour View changed my opinion on this. Its situated on the main road about 3 miles outside kenmare with a beautiful view of the ocean, really feels like your out in spain or somewhere ...so romantic. (we had 2 days of sun so it was only perfect) The rooms were lovely and my partner made sure he got one facing the front. The room was decorated very mod and all facilities that you would expect were included. The lady of the house was very helpful telling us about all the hot spots in the town for the weekend.(you must visit O'Connors bar on a saturday night really good atmosphere in there) The breakfast was buffet style with a main breakfast from the menu to follow ...pankcakes ,egg and salmon, loads more choices than a hotel to be honest. Overall I had such a great time and will have more faith in bed and breakfasts in the future.

This place has a nice view out the front windows if you are lucky to have one of these rooms. However, even if you do these rooms are so small. The one table beside the bed was too small and it was in front of the closet. Therefore the closet was useless. Light fixture over bed was coming down and when pointed out to owner she was not at all concerned. Soap was not new so the thought is it must have been used by others. YUK! NO KLEENEX. No tolietry items. Visible cobwebs in all parts of the house. Breakfast was good but so many other things were so wrong with this place. Owner was less than friendly upon arrival. Warmed up somewhat by departure 2 days later but still would not ever consider this place again.

Very nice B & B, lovely hostess, awesome views. Maureen was wonderful, helpful and kind. I was traveling alone and wanted to go to a pub but did not want to drink and drive and Maureen stopped what she was doing to give me a ride to the Sailor's Bar, which had a very nice fish fry as well. You can catch a boat tour right across the street that is also quite nice and the Restaurant /Bar right next door to the B & B has great food and friendly staff. This is a great stop on your way to Dingle, the scenery on the drive between Kinsale to Kenmare to Dingle is absolutely breathtaking. You will not find a more gracious host, she even picked up toothpaste in town for me. Thanks Maureen. Laurie, Tampa, Florida

A lovely B&B, extremely clean, friendly landlady and excellent breakfasts. It has a lovely view but is about 3km from Kenmare. However well worth it

When they say "Harbour View," they aren't kidding. The views from every front window of this lovely abode are simply breath-taking. Maureen is delightful (as is her breakfast). While in Kenmare, be sure to dine at Prego, too.

We had a wonderful 2 night stay at Harbour View. The view from our bedroom window was spectacular. Maureen was a wonderful hostess. She gave us lots of good tourist advice and went out of her way to find a gaelic football game for us to attend. The breakfast was wonderful in a beautiful sun room looking out over the bay. I would recommend this to anyone staying in the Kenmare area.
