“Golf Kenmare”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 10, 2013

My wife and in stayed in Kenmare for a week and played the local course four times. It is a good layout with some very attractive and challenging holes. The Club Captain made us feel welcome and staff were helpful and friendly. It would be nice to return one day !

Thanks for your review and kind comments Jim K, great to hear that you and your wife played our course 4 times during your week in Kenmare. Our course is in top condition this year and it is great to hear it praised by visiting golfers. As club Captain I am delighted to welcome our guests and hope you and your wife enjoyed the rest of your holidays. We hope to see you return to Kenmare soon .

“Club Captain”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 9, 2013

Happened to drop in to the club with Meadow my granddaughter during captains day just get a feel for the Club House and Course. The Captain could not have made us both more welcome! Free fruit scones that his daughter had stayed up all night to make and he presented Meadow with a Kenmare Golf glove. If there is one thing that we will recall about Kenmare is the time he took during a very busy day to ensure that we both felt at ease. I played the course a few days later with a couple of members and the course is an excellent test, with tree lined fairways, fast and undulating greens.
Many Thanks Richard

Many thanks Richard for your very kind review. I was only too happy to be able to spare a few minutes to meet you and your family last Sunday, Meadow is an absolute treasure. So glad you enjoyed the scones and I am delighted that you returned to play and enjoy our course which is in superb condition. All the bits of the Captains Prize day jigsaw were coming together beautifully when you called, we had a great day with about 140 playing followed by a great night in the clubhouse. Looking forward to your next visit.

Need to play the back nine. Front nine nothing exciting but back is much prettier. Good practice round.

Many thanks for your review and visit to Kenmare Golf Club Agfmomx3, we extended our course about 20 years ago as it was realised that it was becoming more difficult to attract visitors to a 9 hole course. Our original 9 holes were wrapped around Kenmare Bay, unfortunately the only land available was on the opposite side of the road much of it without the sea view, but with spectacular views of Kenmare town and countryside. I believe that our closing 6 holes are a great finish to a round of golf and the attraction of great value green fees makes our course a must visit. Please return soon.

Thanks Pal Crew. It was a great day, all the bits of the jigsaw came together to complete the picture. We were blessed by weather, fed by the food guru, Mike Casey of the "The Limetree" restaurant and his crew did a fantastic job with a big smile on their faces all day. Some great golf was played and we had a fantastic night at the prizegiving and entertainment afterwards. I am so grateful to all who helped make the day so memorable for me.

“Genuine welcome at Kenmare Golf Club”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 31, 2013

Over many years my companions and I visit Kenmare more or less annually - which I suppose says a lot - people re-visit a place (and district) for one apparent reason - they enjoy their visit(s) on each occasion. Kenmare, to us represents a town and district, which has the innate ability to keep drawing people back to it. Each year, we invariably pay a (more or less) social visit (at this stage neither of us are 'serious' golfers) to the local Kenmare Golf Club - and are welcomed on each visit with the proverbial 'open-arms'. Likewise, the nearby Ring of Kerry Golf Club has given us similar treatment. Golf or no golf - without doubt, the conclusion to be reached here (and no doubt everywhere) is that it's the local people who effectively set the benchmark for a town/district etc. And Kenmare measures up to the best anywhere. Oh, by the way, the food options there ain't half bad either!

Hi Kevin, many thanks for you great review of Kenmare Golf Club, your kind comments are very much appreciated. We endeavour to make all visitors to our course feel very welcome and try to accommodate their needs. Our course is in fantastic condition at present and with the Ring of Kerry Golf Club at Templenoe both courses make Kenmare an ideal place for a great value golfing break. Both courses can be played for €60 on the Kenmare Golf Ticket, monday-friday.
Kenmare town is magical, great food, accommodation, interesting shops and some great visitor attractions,a great place to enjoy a break, the town depends on tourism and everybody works at projecting as positive an image as possible. I hope you return soon.
