“Wonderful B&B!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2012

The Sea Shore Farm Guesthouse, and their gracious hosts Owen and Pat, truly deserve all the wonderful reviews they have received on TripAdvisor. My family of four spent 2 nights there this month and we wished we could have stayed longer. The family room (2 inter-connecting rooms each with its own bathroom) was comfortable, exceptionally clean and spacious. The welcoming pot of tea and cake and the breakfasts were fabulous! What makes this B&B so special is its hosts. Owen and Pat go out of their way to make you feel at home and to help plan your stay in Kenmare and the Ring of Kerry. We had a great stay here! I would highly recommend!

We spent 1 night at the Sea Shore Farm B & B, and as soon as we arrived we agreed that it was somewhere we would like to stay longer. Unfortunately, our itinerary was set and we couldn't extend our stay.

The house is located on a narrow lane, just a short distance from Kenmare. Our room looked out over the bay to the hills beyond, and the view was spectacular in the evening sun. The room was large and nicely decorated. The bathroom was large as well, and very modern. Both rooms and the whole house in general were impeccably clean. We enjoyed sitting outside in the evening, and then spent time in the guest lounge.

Owen and Mary were excellent hosts, and were very knowledgeable about several areas of Ireland that we had yet to visit. We truly enjoyed our time with them, and at their lovely B & B.

A beautiful, quiet setting just outside of town overlooking the bay. Mary and Owen were very welcoming and helpful. Everything worked fine with our two rooms and the beds were very comfortable. Breakfast was delicious and served with a lots of attention from Owen. Everything a B&B is supposed to be. I rated Value - Average below as the cost was on par with other B&Bs in Ireland we stayed out of similar quality.

Cows in the pasture, scenic lake with mountains too! Breath taking. Owen should be a travel guide. Patricia's breakfast were excellent and quite filling. Didn't have to eat until dinner. A little too far to walk to town in inclement weather but great parking at edge of town. Great restaurants too!

We stayed with my family just one night and we were very happy to choose it. The tenant was very nice and attentive to our stay. He welcomed us with cups of tea and cakes. The room was really spacious with a bay view and was linked through the bathroom to the children room. Everything was clean and the breakfast was good. One negative point : the temperature within the room. A little bit warmer would be perfect.

Sea Shore Farm was stop #4 on my trip around Ireland, and yet again I was very fortunate to find such an excellent B & B with such friendly owners. After my usual brief period of getting lost and as usual being assisted by a friendly local, I arrived earlier than I had meant to and found owners Owen and Mary on their way out to mass. Nonetheless they very kindly quickly whipped up a fresh pot of coffee and biscuits and showed me to me room before heading out. The room was large and very comfortably appointed, with an excellent bathroom, in fact the facilities were of a hotel standard. The icing on the cake though was the view - out over green farm paddocks dropping away to the sea, with rolling hills beyond. Breakfast was wonderful and I sampled both the full Irish and also Mary's scrambled eggs with smoked salmon. If you order the porridge before hand, take note of the dish containing dark brown sugar and a small jug of Bailey's Irish Cream - in combination, they raised what was already good porridge to the level of delightful porridge. The town centre is a 12-15 minute easy stroll down a country lane, observed at times by a few curious cows, and Owen was also very helpful with directions and information on attractions such as the Killarney National Park. As an added bonus he had already identified which Irish counties both my father and mother's names originated from as soon as I mentioned them. This really is a top quality B & B and will not disappoint anyone staying here. Highly recommended.

We stayed at this B&B for 2 days and are happy we did. The older couple that owns the place are very warm and helpful. The rooms were quite spacious and everything was clean. The view of the scenery out the large bedroom window was absolutely amazing. It's about a 5-10 minute drive into town, which was a bit of a drawback as we would have preferred to be walking distance, but parking is free and it really was such a peaceful place to stay. GREAT value for the money.
