“A really cosy restaurant, with very friendly staff”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 5, 2013

Any time we go to Kenmare we go to Packie's one of the evenings. The food is second to none and the staff are very relaxed, non-intrusive but very friendly. I love this place, hope it never changes!!

“Excellent”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 26, 2013

A lovely greeting when we arrived by Siobhan who showed us to our table and gave us excellent service all night. Dinner for 4 adults and teenager was excellent. We had mussels, monkfish and potato pancakes for starters and it was all great. The mussels were very fresh. They were very generous starters. Main courses were superb. The dover dole stuffed with prawns was fantastic. The house red was great. It was the teenagers birthday and the staff all came out singing happy birthday with with a candle.
Overall it was a great night. While a little pricey it was worth it as we were on holidays.

“Delicious food and delightful service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 25, 2013

Like some of the other reviewers, we stumbled upon Packie's without reservations but they were kind enough to squeeze us in early. The food was amazing and the servers were charming. It is evident that many locals eat here and some elementary aged girls from the town even came in to visit the wait staff and cook while we were there. We all had seafood and everything was delicious. We especially liked the seafood sausage appetizer the waitress recommended. Next time, we will make reservations to assure that we get the chance to eat here again.

“As Good As It Gets”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 25, 2013

There can be a bit of anxiety about going back to a place where you have previously had a brilliant experience, just in case the standards haven't been maintained. We needn't have worried. Packie's must be one of the best seafood restaurants in Ireland. Cosy, welcoming on a cold February night, atmospheric, and most important of all on top of its game when it comes to providing an exceptional menu where everything on it looks enticing. The roast cod with lemon butter is to die for. My wife said she would be dreaming about the scallops. Good wine list, and efficient and friendly service. Chef came out to personally ask if everything was to our liking. What a place! If only there were more restaurants like this. Looking forward to our next visit when we return to Kenmare.

“john dory”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 24, 2013

was in Kenmare for a wedding last week. After the rehearsal we were meeting a folks for drinks but decided to get something to eat first. For a Thursday night lots of place closed but we came across this place, A a fish fan i was in heaven, had the John dory for mains. The best part was the wine list. Decent wines with not a sign of 'yuri von ripoff' .
