“Stay Away!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed September 18, 2012

Our Disappointment started when we arrived at the car park. It looks nothing like in the photos.
Dirt, cracks, old chipped paintwork and signs; stains all up the carpeted hallway, painted Breezeblocks walls! (really! looks like a prison!) - and that was before we got to our room.
Shower was over the bath with a curtain. Stains & rust from the shower taps and head. White scum of some kind on the brown bathroom tiles ?! Stained bath had half the grip pattern on the base worn away from the years .... Hair-dryer didn't work, neither did the clock alarm, TV was limited.
No Toaster or microwave. Rust and Worn were the theme of the decor.
The Cafe & Bar were CLOSED our entire stay from Sunday to Thursday, Sept 2012. As there was only International Roast coffee, teabags and long-life milk available, we had to take the trip into town for even a cup of coffee.
The Swimming pool was scarey! The Waterfall was roped off and was breathtakingly ugly.
Reception closed at 6, so there was no-one around to quieten a noisy party.
Concrete all round was bare, stained and cracked. Check the dates on the reviews you read - most of the good/fair are about 3 yrs old.
The Chinese Restaurant next door had 2 customers. That's because it's awful. 2 meals cost $32 and mum didn't eat hers. I think we sent $25 worth back.
Beach - there isn't one! Across the road there is a pretty walking area and grass - but we came to the Whitsundays for beach. It is shells and mud and mangroves. You can't sit on it!

The only good thing was: Clean towels, room was serviced every day. But OMG - do yourself a favour and go somewhere else. I have never stayed in such a poor hotel and have pictures to back up my words.

i come from Sydney to Airlie to see the reef. Stayed at Club Croc for 3 nights in a standard room. Was very good. They have a wonderful bar that looks over the pool area which is nice on a sunny afternoon. The guy that served us drinks and dinner on the Friday night was fantastic - we receive great service from everyone. The one thing i will say it was a little noisy on the Saturday night we stayed, some younger people were having a bbq and drinks by the pool, but the security team took care of that after we called reception. We really liked the place and will come back next time we visit the Whitsundays. Thank you for looking after us.

Fantastic affordable accommodation in a spectacular location. Couldn't recommend this resort more highly. Nice rooms, great facilities, friendly staff and it's clean and tidy. Make sure you put this resort at the top of your list when visiting Airlie Beach. Thanks for a great holiday Club Croc!

I stayed here with my partner for 2 nights as we were keen to see Airlie Beach for the first time. We found our room to be value for the money we paid ($109) It wasnt flash, but it was clean and had everything we needed. The only thing missing was a hair dryer, but one was sent to the room when we asked. The staff at reception were very knowledgable and the choices of day trips and restaurants, cafes they gave us were great.
The place is set out of Airlie slightly but there is a really nice board walk into the town centre which only took around 15-20 minutes (great view on sunset)
All in all, we enjoyed our stay. We booked here as it was 3 Star and within our budget and we werent disappointed. The service we received was great and although we didnt utilize the pool and spa area, it looked beautiful and would be great if you were travelling with kids.

we realy loved our stay and location was everything so close to the boats for the cruises out to the reef but the odd sock under the bed from the previous user wasnt cool and the unfinished maintainence work arround the place was a giggle like not painting behind the beds and cupboards (just the lil things) lol and the stray bed wheel

Room Tip: they have a huge pool area and pool table large place to eat

Dear Rhedyn,

Thank you for your recent feedback in regards to your stay with us.

I am so pleased that you loved your stay with us including our very central location but I am disappointed to learn that there were a couple of small downfalls. I have shared your feedback with my housekeeping and maintenance teams and have addressed your comments on the unfinished maintenance around the room.

I wish you well in your future travels and would like the opportunity to welcome you back. If you are in the area please don’t hesitate to contact me directly. In the meantime, please feel free to add us on Facebook to keep up to date with the latest news.

Nice, big, clean, quiet and comfortable room with a double and a single bed.
Nice bathroom as well.
Friendly and helpful staff.
Near the city centre but it's a 20 mins walk from it.
I'd recommend to stay here.

My wife and I stayed here for two nights, one night before a live-aboard trip and one night after. This place is disgusting. We had prepaid for our room (both before and after) and could not get our money back or we would have left. The second room was better than the first one we stayed in but was still filthy enough to where we wore shoes the entire time in the room (including the shower). As we were waiting for a Taxi by the front desk, another couple complained about the condition of rooms (they had been there 9 years previously and enjoyed the rooms). When they asked to be put on the top floor to at least get a view, the lady working the front desk responded “you don’t want to stay up there; we don’t even bother to clean those rooms”. It was also a ways from Airlie Beach. If you are looking for discount accommodations, I would check out a private room in a hostel before you stay at Club Croc.

Dear Zach P,

Thank you for your feedback with regard to your recent stay at Club Crocodile Airlie Beach. Without feedback we can’t improve our shortcomings and enhance our strengths.

It is disappointing for us to read such a review and we have followed up in relation to your stay. Our housekeeping staff are trained to ensure that all rooms are serviced on a daily basis and all rooms are checked on a daily basis. However, I have passed this information onto the team to ensure that we continue to improve and meet our guest expectation.

We recently appointed a new Management team at Club Croc Airlie Beach that live on site and are available 24/7. These roles are to ensure the above improvements are completed and our guest service standards continue to improve. If you would like to contact me directly, I am more than happy to speak with you personally regarding your stay.
