“Wonderful location & beaches”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 12, 2014

The location and the beaches are so beautiful that you would not want to leave this place. Nice bar with activities/events to engage people. Beautiful house reef. We saw all sorts of fishes, reef sharks, starfish etc etc but missed stingray :( . Common area and the beaches are just too stunningly beautiful. The italian restaurant has a very nice setting. We stayed in Beach villa and watervilla both. Beach villas are average. Only a few have unobstructed view of the beach. The main restaurant is too crowded and the buffet is repetitive and average. Internet is expensive and only available in common areas. All the club facilities are paid but then who goes to Maldives to play billiards and table tennis :).

However the whole experience changes when you are in water villas. Very peaceful, excellent and well thought decor of rooms, free internet, beautiful lagoon. You would see all kinds of fishes including rays and sharks sitting by the lagoon outside your water villa. The main restaurant for water villas is also very good and peaceful. We found the menu to be slightly different. They also serve you water there unlike the beach villa restaurant.

Go there for the location, beautiful beaches and setting, choose water villa for a bit of luxury, peaceful and beautiful rooms. Don't miss the sunset :) We sat through it everyday we were there.

Staff: Average, spend money and they would smile at you. They aren't rude though. They just seem too busy most of the time. They would greet you and everything but more like a checklist item

Rest is very good. In all, its definitely value for money.
Additional tip: Carry line-in cord if staying in water-villa. They have Bose speakers with line-in facility if you want to plug in your i-pod/i-pad

Room Tip: Beach Villa: 304-320 is the best. Unobstructed view of beach, sunset Watervilla: Any. All are good

One of the awful hotels I've ever been! The location is great and so is the beach and the sand but all the others items - rooms, food and mainly the attitude of the stuff is horrible!
Any thing you ask - the1st answer is no! Sometimes they don't even bother to answer you at all and the phone in the room is always useless. The rooms are (maybe) 2 stars grade, they are extrimly far away from the lobby and the dining room (up to 1 Km) and when you ask for a trsf, it might take 35 minutes or more.
They are trying to overcharge your bill in items that you didn't ask, there is a mosque in the middle of the hotel so you here that 5 times per day, you can seat more than an hour in the bar and no one will ask for any order - etc etc. It was a nightmare for more than 400 Us$ per night.
Do'nt go there !!!!!!!!!

Great Value for Money with Beach Villas. A more luxury option when you choose the Water Villas. Definitely take the All Inclusive option if possible - drinks are very expensive (soft drinks around 6 US dollars, alcoholic drinks around 12 US dollars, lunch/dinner around 35-100 US dollars). The All Inclusive option does not include everything, but enough that the only money you will spend will be on tips and extra sports activities (para-sailing recommended! Costs around 200 US dollars/ couple).
SPA treatments can also be purchased additionally. They are amazing, so it's great to go at least once (100-250 US dollars per person). It's possible to buy a 7 day SPA package for around 1700 US dollars - looks awesome, so if looking for relaxation I'd definitely go for it!

IMPORTANT:
Mind the Tax and Service charge - you might be surprised to find the cost of whatever you bought +18%.

Bring mosquito repellent, flippers and snorkeling equipment (can rent goggles for around 11 US dollars and flippers for around 6 US dollars/ day).

Not recommended for history enthusiasts. Maldives are a relax and sunbathe destination. On top of that: water sports, beautiful surroundings and SPA treatments are available.

PS. They say the reef sharks swimming around the island don't bite :)

Room Tip: It doesn't really matter where you stay on the island. Every villa, whether it's a Water or...

We a couple in their fifties visited Paradise island for 4 nights starting March 2 2014. We stayed in a Water Villa. This makes a big difference & is highly trcommended. The villa is very comfortable clean & has a warm atmosphere. The pleasure of going into these tourquise eaters from the stairs of your room is un beatable. Food is very good & the fact that you have a seperate restaurant is also an addition. Entertainment was OK. They have a rif close to the italian restaurant which is beautiful. We did not do any organized tours so I don't know how is the rif that they are recommending. The staf is nice & helpful. If you go for a water villa I recommend Villas from 750 n& above. The inly draw back I have is that they charge you for every thing icluding the gim for examle. I think also they should consider extending the breafast until 11 am.
Altogether Highly recommended & a super wonerful place & vaccation

Room Tip: Water Villa- 750 & above facing the Lagoone

was looking for the perfect honeymoon destination and spent xmas and new years at Paradise Island.
stayed couple nights at beach bungalow, AVOID THE 100S ROOMS, ASK FOR 272 AND ABOVE, BETTER VIEW OF THE ISLAND BETTER CONDITION ROOMS.
if you are going to the Maldives get the water villas! it is the only way to experience paradise!beautiful rooms, beautiful views and amazing food.
Service was good from reception to porters, switched our rooms promptly on request.
hotel had lots of activities for couples and for families, water sports and private beach dinners, as well as evening entertainment like beauty pageants and singing contests.
the Araamu spa is a must!
take your own snorkeling gear cause there's lots to see in the ocean just outside your rooms, and there's no need to keep renting it from the hotel. You will need swimming shoes since there's lots of coral on the ocean floor
Pros- Beautiful Scenery, to die for views and all the privacy you could ask for
Cons-Expensive, we were on full board and even getting extra water was pricey, go for all inclusive or stop by the mainland to stock up.
only let down was the honeymoon surprise turned out to be a fruit basket with just 4 pieces of tired fruit!
brilliant honeymoon!!

Room Tip: stay in the water villas and above, they are wonderful. if you get beach bungalows from room 272 onw...

truely a paradise mid water. had a most memorable time of my life there. from airport pickup to drop and everything in between was fab. we took a stay plus all meals package and i was satisfied with the experience. the rooms were decent enough but high on service. the food was amazing the plethora of food items offered were just too much to handle. the scenic beauty leaves you completely spellbound and there are many water sports for the adventurous ones. all in all a mesmerizing experience

We stayed at Paradise Island Resort for 10 nights. The location was just breathtaking. Resort was nice, and service was kind, but rooms were average. When you are in that nice location you mostly spend your time in outdoor so it didn't ruined our nicest and most romantic vacation:)
