Excellent contrast with the main Male island. It is possible to stay here on a business trip and commute across, however, be aware that the boat service is erratic, much more pleasant experience than staying in the city. One thing to watch out for is when the fish come into feed in the evening, it is spectacular.

we stayed here from 25 april for 4 nights. We initially booked the superior beach bunglow and after two nights upgraded to water villas. We personally liked the beach bunglow more than the water villas as the beach bunglow have a beach right in front of the room and jungle like atmosphere and than the water. Water here is so clean you can actually see any activity happening inside. They have 5 restaurant in the island all with bar. And a seperate bar also near d pool. Food is very good specially the stuff prepared at dhavani coffee shop. Staff is very friendly. Mind you the italian restaurant just near the entrance to the resort is amazing. I ate the best pizza of my life thr. Please do snorkelling if you are staying there its a must. Some of the low point of this resorts are.

1) Water is very expensive you get a 1.5ltr bottle for 4 usd.
2) they dont provide even a single glass of complimentary water even during the buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner which is a shame.
3)tea and coffee are the worst ive ever had.
4) staff at d buffet is always in a hurry to clear your plates even if your plate is filled with food and you are sitting they wont even ask you and just clean up the table. Mind you for no reason (table is booked for all the people who have meals included in thr package).
5)they dont take cash at any place except reception where you have to clear all your dues at the point of check out. And loads of wrong billing was done in our total bill.

Please carry your water to the resort according to your need or you may end up paying 50-70 usd only for water in 2 to 3 days.

Beside this overall the resort is wonderful and the speedboat transfers are something special.

P.s- dont ever take your package from Make my trip they are big cheaters. Also once you have done all yhe payments your concerned agent will never answer your calls. Our agent kanav khurana ext no 3010 is one of worst agent ive ever dealed with. He never answered our phone once the payment was done. We kept on requesting him through mail and msg to change our dates but hr never replied we also called make my trip call centre which never answers on the existing booking counter. If you have any value for time and money dont even consider Make my trip for your your. You can see thousands of complains at d consumer phorum.(we checked after the package was done). Make my trip should be named cheated with my trip and remember kanav khurana a person to avoid.

We have just returned from Paradise Island Resort & Spa where we have spent a fantastic 8 days holiday and i want to share with you my thoughts about this resort.
First about rooms.
We stayed in a Superior beach bungalow and i can tell you all that we found it much more interesting to stay on the beach than in a water villa...of course the water villas are much more comfortable and have better conditions as room itself, but to be on the beach, have a great view with the white sand and the turquoise ocean while staying under a palm it is much more beautiful for us...
to help you choose a bungalow i can give you the following advices:
The best area is in the north of the island in bungalows between 274 and 320..
274 to 303 are on the eastern part of the island and 304 to 320 on the western, but all in the north part of the island
Why i recommend this part of the island?
Very simple.
The part of the beach on the western part from 101 to 169 is not good because in that area all day long a lot of boats are crossing and beside the fact that it is not a very nice view because there is a dam in front of the beach, it is a strong smell of gas from the boats...
On the other side, the eastern side with bungalows from 170 to 220 it is the worst part of the island...It is no beach, only 20 meters of rocks and some plants like in a dessert...besides this, the area for bath is very thin as it is another dam and a big part from the bath area is very deep and there are signs that the swimming it is not allowed...
The rest of this part of the beach with bungalows from 221 to 273 is a little better with a better beach and a good part of lagoon to swim...
Now some things for sustaining my choice for the north part of the island...
In the eastern part, where we stayed in nr 286, where are the bungalows from 274 to 303 it is the best, because in this area of the island it is the widest beach and the part of the lagoon where there is the biggest reef from this island where you can see thousands of fishes, reef sharks and a lot of other types of marine life...besides this, the bungalows positioning from here is great as it is just under the last palms and trees until the beach...this gives a great view from the rooms and from the terrace.
As for the western part of the north of the island where there are bungalows from 304 to 320, it is a good area too, with a good part of beach, great view and great part of lagoon too but in this part of the sea there are little fishes and also there is a part where the water sports are going on, so a little noise from the sky-jets...but the bungalows from this part have hammocks which is interesting:)
so as a conclusion, if you want to have a pleasant stay, choose bungalows from 274 to 320...
if they give you a bungalow from 170 to 220 just say no and ask for another room...
now some thing about the Resort.
I think it is a good value for the money, the food is very good, a lot of choices, a lot of fruits and sweet things for the dessert:)
The drinks are expensive in my opinion even if it is on an island...
here is a list of prices:
3 usd for a bottle of 1.5l of still water
5 usd for a cane of beer or a bottle of 0.5l of juice
5 usd for a glass of wine
from 8 to 12 usd for cocktails
here is an advice, which i put in practice.Took with you, if you have room in the luggage, some bottles of water and juice not to spend a fortune on these and to keep your money to drink alcohol:)
they also give you each day 0.5l of water per person but do not imagine that it will be enough...it is very hot and you need liquids all day long
in the main bar, every evening it is a different program for each day of the week so if you stay for a week you won't see the same thing 2 times
about the excursions, there are some, but most of them i think are not a value for the cost but this you can decide there when you speak to the reception and they show you the book for excursions...
all the personnel is very helpful, nice and they are all day ask you how do you do and if you need any help
a little minus for the resort is the furniture from the bungalows which it is a little old and not so styled but as we did not go there to stay in the room all day long it was not a problem for us.
if anyone wants some more advices about this resort ca contact me at any moment and i will do my best to answer:)

Only flip side : If you don’t have prior bookings , everything extra is costly here:beer, food, beach activity , shack vack etc .Go fr full meal plans, activities and u may as well save some 200-300 usd .However, Paradise island resort is the biggest resort that I have seen in my life. It was so beautiful that I can’t express in my words. I stayed here for 4 days and enjoyed a lot.

Travel package was from Maldivestourister.com unit who provide more than 200 options , flights etc at a better rates than most for Maldives. One of their people ,Ayesha arranged & suggested us this & it ws absolutely , the right decision The locality was very superior and it was located next to the sea and very near to the international airport. The assistant of the room is well behaved and does his job delightfully the administration have recruited great and well mannered people to look after us.

There were 4 different types of room in the hotel. I stayed here in the deluxe one and it was very cosy and dirt free. My room was on the 5th floor - view from that was tremendus , has private balcony ,private pool , sea facing. ,vital amenities like satellite television , mini bar and IDD caller facilities with other basics services. The staff was very moderate and they always say namaste to their Indian clients in a funny accent

The breakfast and the supper at night; all were fabulous. The restaurants were very classic beach like and they have the indisputable taste of Chinese food. Dishes from all over the world were accessible in the restaurants and the food was very luscious too. Hotel has two bars. One is on the ground floor and the second one is on the veranda . Drinks from all over the world are offered there.

I tried some of the spa and really felt comfortable and it’s very gud for the people who are health cognizant. Hotel has swimming pool and gym also. The instructor of gym was excellent but water of swimming pool was not lucid so I didn’t go there. It’s a must visit place to go fr any Indian honeymooner , anyday

My husband and I had a holiday here in Dec'12..we were awestruck with the scenic beauty around ever since we were getting ready to land at Male. We were to meet Hotel Representative at the Airport for Transfer to hotel and after waiting for 15 mins we were escorted to the speedboat..the first feel of the Island was great..but immediately followed many "BUTs". I would list High and Not So High of Island:

1. Scenic and Serene location
2. Well Mannered Staff
3. Lots of Privacy and Time for Each Other
4. Very easy access to Beach from the Bunglows.
5. We did Scuba Diving (I tried, my husband actually did!) and it was great experience.
6. We saw many people going for Snorkeling and enjoying it! The gears were available at a price.
7. We went for Couple's Spa and thoroughly enjoyed it.

Not So High:
1. Even Though we had taken a planned holiday with a Maldives Specialist and tickets etc were organized by them, we had to wait for close to 1.5 hours to get our rooms, as room checkin time was late. we were asked to wait in reception or beach side, not that we would have mind being near the beach but exhertion from a long journey had taken a toll and all we wanted were a quick nap..
2. Rooms are just ok, the AC in our room was not working and after calling thrice to the helpdesk, we got someone to fix it up. Considering that Maldives is Humid and Hot all the time, the waiting time was not appreciated
3. The supplies at Washroom were really less and even basics for a beach holiday like Bathrobe, Sunscreen, Slippers and Hair Dryer were missing. I missed bigtime on it, since I had not carried them with me (except Sunscreen)
4. The Welcome Basket was made available to us again after lots of follow up and late in the night..and rightly it lost its charm. it appeared for them it was a regular business and they dint have sesitivity to know that for us it was a special time.
5. the Food was not good..the spread was decent but taste and quality could have been much better
6. the hotel staff though was approachable but at the same time not very supportive and responsive. it needed demanding instead of their proactiveness at many occassions.
7. Basic facilities like complimentary internet were missing, I would not have mind paying a few dollars extra for having drinking water and internet as part of the package.

All in all, I would say I enjoyed more for the company I had and a lavish beauty at offer at Maldives at large, services at hotel had a very limited role to play in making my stay a memorable one. Adding small tit bits here and there would make the island better for visitors and a few dollars extra (if required) would not hurt many if it results in better experience.

I would definetly like to visit Maldives again for the "Us" time and serene beauty but I would like to give Paradise a miss.
