“Lovely views”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 27, 2014

This was our second stay at the Harbourside ... the last was 7 years ago and very little has changed apart from the rooms have been spruced up since last time. The main thing this hotel has going for it are the views ... you can't get these views for this price (if you get their weekend deal) anywhere else in Sydney. It's worth staying here just for that.
Beds are comfortable, rooms are pleasantly decorated, staff are helpful enough and great location just about on-top of North Sydney station. Would definitely go back.

Room Tip: Higher up the hotel the better. Also, if breakfast isn't included in your rate then there are fa...

Conveniently located. Very near good places to eat at. Very near the train station. Do try to get a room at the higher floors so that you don't get bothered by the trains passing under. Breakfast is okay. Rooms are very clean. The people are very friendly.

Room Tip: Get a room at the higher floors to keep from the noise of the trains going underneath.

The "Romancing with a view" is the best package I have seen offered by any hotel.
You can do everything under the one roof for such a good price.
Loved our stay.
The trains are the only downfall but only if you are being fussy.
Staff were great :)
View was lovely!
Will be back! ( only the second place I would ever go back to-other than the Park Hyatt in Melbourne)

Room Tip: stay above level 7 because of trains- even though not a big issue

Stayed here in January this year, haven't been to this motel for more than three years. I did not disappoint. The rooms lovely and comfortable, the Meals were exceptionally good. I had a Vegetarian Entree which was absolutely amazing, every bite was just as delicious as the previous. They have a Happy Hour at the bar and just across the street is a Shopping Mall which now holds the famous Ding Tai Fung Restaurant. Probably only negative is, if you are staying on one of the lower floors you can hear the Trains underground.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on a higher level to reduce the noise of the trains underground.

Stayed here once again, for one night before a visit to the Hunter Valley. We picked the "Romancing with a View" which included parking, dinner and breakfast. Also a free sparkling wine and chocolates on arrival. We actually got there early but a room was ready for us !!!

Excellent dinner and buffet breakfast, amazing views and late checkout - what more couple a couple want?

I stay here a lot and always find the staff friendly and helpful. I confess I usually use restaurants and cafes outside the hotel as there are many interesting places to eat nearby - this vista I did use room service and had a fantastic salmon and veges meal. Very enjoyable.
Rooms above about level 5 are recommended as the property is above the railway station. This trip I was well up in levels (12) and so had a great nights sleep.

Room Tip: Above around level 5 will ensure you cannot hear the trains!

Stayed for a single night while on business in north Sydney. As other reviewers have mentioned the views across Sydney harbor are fabulous, the room was modern and very clean, awesome bed (especially after a 4am start), staff were very friendly and helpful and location is great and very handy for the north Sydney train station. Which is the main issue with this hotel.
I am now fully aware of the timetable for all trains that run through the north Sydney train station!. The low rumble of the trains passing under the hotel and the squeal of the rails is very noticeable, even on the 14 floor and very much so in the restaurant.
Possible this is worse for rooms that are closest to Blue street where the station is located.
Overall a great stay however and I am sure to return.
