“Wonderfull food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2013

Me and my Fiancee have been to this Restaurant 4 or 5 times now and have never had a bad meal. Friendly staff and excellent Chef, the Steaks are fabulous.

Best Pub / Restaurant by far in this area.

“well cooked meat”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 22, 2013

We ate here on Saturday evening and both enjoyed the experience. There was a buzz in the bar where the tables are but the seating made for a good atmosphere for eating too. The steak pie and the flat steak from a local butcher were delicious and cooked to perfection, melting in the mouth. The chunky chips are lovely and we loved the presentation. If we weren't going to see blondie at the sands tomorrow night we would have come back!

“Excellent food and atmosphere”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 3, 2013

We enjoyed a delicious meal here tonight. A traditional country pub environment complete with log fire and the food was exceptional. We arrived early evening 6.30pm yet we were struck by how busy it was in the pub. Greeted by a very warm welcome from the landlady. Shared the antipasto ( for two) between three of us. Great selection - hot prawns, pate, salami, cheese, olives, ham served on an oblong slate with some good bread . Big choice of mains but a highlight had to be the steak pie ( from local butcher) with a stack of hand cut chips, seasonal veg and rich gravy served in a separate jug. Freshly cooked fish and chips also deserve a mention. Very good service and friendly staff. This place is a gem.
The country pub is certainly thriving in this village and good luck to them.

“Other landlords Could Learn From Here”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 9, 2013

Since my last visit to this restaurant nothing much has changed, the standards are still as high as they were and the food every bit as good as before.Graham is a perfect mine host, attentive and polite, whilst not butting into conversations, he is there behind the bar and when invited makes intelligent conversation.I am also pleased to report that the toilets are still pristine in every department, if there is an award for clean loos' then The Wheatsheaf would win this hands down.
