We went to the Cafe Marsala located on the main street that runs through Long Melford last Friday night with another couple. Luckily I had pre-booked a table as they were almost full when we arrived at 8.30 for our meal.
We were shown to a table at the rear of the restaurant which wasn't great, but the only other spare table was already reserved for a party of six or more.
The owner kindly offered to change our table as soon as another became free, but in the end we stayed where we were.
After some poppadums & nice, fresh looking pickles & dips etc we went straight to main courses with a selection of side dishes and breads. We were all pleased with the well presented and tasty main dishes that included a Xacutti chicken, a Jalfrezi and a couple of other milder dishes. All were very enjoyable and served in good sized portions.
By the time we finished our meals and coffees at around 10.00 the restaurant was almost empty and getting ready for the later trade.
All in all an excellent evening with pleasant and efficient service.
Prices seemed good value for money at just over £90 for four.
